MAN-E-NEWS// Super7 at SDCC ’14…
Looking to pull out all the stops for SDCC this year, Super7 have just unveiled a total of 11 exclusives they’ll be bringing along to the event later this month! Featuring a tight selection of both vinyl and ReAction figures, we bring you a quick rundown of what will be on offer at their booth (#4945), starting with the breathtaking array of sofubi…
Chanmen x S7 Oozebat “Tribute”- Paying homage to the classic Ooze-It toy that inspired the figure’s design, the Oozebat has been cast in a deep green, coming with black and yellow sprays to resemble the original’s plug attachments. These have been priced at $50 each.
“Cookies ‘n Cream” Foster- The adorable cookie returns for SDCC in a marbled brown and GID soft vinyl. Standing at around 3″ tall, the little guy will set you back just $25.
“Volcano Fire” Caveman Dinosaur- Josh Herbolsheimer’s latest creation, the Caveman Dino mini, has been cast in a bright red vinyl with black and gold sprays. Coming in at just a little taller than Foster at 3.5″ tall, you’ll be able to find the figure at the booth for just $35 a piece.
“Marbled Madness” Mongolion- Having made a reappearance in this year’s Super7 Lucky Bags, Lamour Supreme’s awesome figure appears to be seeing a renaissance of sorts at the moment, seeing yet another new incarnation for SDCC. Cast in a clear green and gold glitter vinyl, the Mongolion remains unpainted bar 2 bright red eyes. These will be up for grabs at $65 each.
“Bug Splatter” Crystal Mecha- Continuing the crazy marbled theme, the latest iteration of Brian Flynn’s 9″ kaiju has been cast in a swirled mix of silver, blue, black and gold, and finished with dark blue paint splatters. These have been priced at $95 each.
“Radioactive Puke” Fossilla- Herbolsheimer’s impressive beast is given the nuclear treatment for this release, coming cast in a swirled mix of yellow, blue, brown and orange vinyl with red and bone hand painted detailing. Coming in at around 9″ tall, Fossilla can be yours for $95.
“Adventure Set” Mummy Boy- Super7’s signature Mummy Boy makes a return for a very special SDCC release! Featuring all 3 previous head designs; the original Mummy, Pumpkin and Miska’s recent Keep Watch, the interchangeable set has been cast in a swirled trans pink and glitter vinyl with red paint accents, coming in at just $65 each.
“Burnt Offering” Hono- Lecifer’s adorable little flame guy has been treated to a rather singed looking colourway this time around, coming cast in what appears to be a marbled black and brown vinyl with gold sprays. Look out for him at the booth priced at just $35.
Alien “Deep Space” Mystery ReAction Figures- Joining the huge selection of vinyl, Super7 will also be teaming up with Funko for a whole slew of exclusive ReAction Figure releases, the first of which coming in the form of the Alien “Deep Space” mystery figures. Featuring realistic interpretations of the horrific eggs from the film that house either an all-new Alien figure or colourway, once opened, the container doubles as an action figure stand featuring a foot-peg to pose your ReAction Figure with ease. Limited to 4 per person, these have been priced at just $25 each.
The Alien Egg Chamber ReAction Playset- Inspired by the playsets of the 1970’s and packaged in an era appropriate photo box, this labour of love comes complete with classically styled action base made from durable hand-cast resin and corrugated cardboard, plus a full-colour Alien Egg Silo backdrop that slides into the base for display. Created exclusively for SDCC, these have been limited to just 250, coming in at $100 each.
The Gimp in a Box ReAction Figure- Super7 and Funko look towards one of their more recent license acquisitions for their last SDCC exclusive (for the moment at least!), taking on one of Pulp Fiction’s more obscure characters, the Gimp! Whilst photos of the figure are still forthcoming, we’ve been told he’ll be the standard 3.75” tall, coming in an ornately detailed outfit and packaged inside a wooden storage box. Limited to 1 per person, these have been priced at $25 each.
