Briefly mentioned in our SDCC ’15 coverage last week, we can now finally reveal Grumble Toys‘ latest sofubi in-full… the adorable Manmorah! A collaboration with fellow sofubi producers Amapro, the super-chunky sculpt has been produced in a gorgeous teal colored soft vinyl for its debut release, coming with pastel and pearlescent sprays that match the previously revealed figures. Limited to an edition of just 2 pieces priced at $60 each, Manmorah will be up for grabs alongside the rest of the “Pastel Fluorescence” series at the Rotofugi SDCC booth (#5248) later this week… Here’s hoping for an online release soon!
But that’s not all! To all those that will be in the San Diego area for SDCC this week, we suggest heading over to Basic Urban Kitchen & Bar‘s “Shellshocked: A TMNT Art Show”, where the Grumble Toy duo will have some select work up for grabs! Featuring a painting by GT’s Ainsley, this has been joined by a micro run of 4 Ishigon sofubi painted up in the iconic colors of the turtles. Check the show out when it opens its doors tomorrow (7/7) at 7pm…
Rotofugi are proud to announce that they’ve teamed up with Canadian duo Grumble Toy for a whole host of exclusives that’ll be up for grabs at their SDCC ’15 booth in just over a weeks time! Featuring all 6 figures from the pair’s current line up – NekoMimi, Chuo-Cho, Chubby Tough, Wormrah, Ishigon and Ilith – each has been produced in a Japanese soft vinyl and treated to a number of sprays and hand painted detailing rather aptly dubbed “Pastel Fluorescence”. Limited to edition sizes ranging from 2-7 and priced at just $33-$38 each, look out for Grumble Toys’ creations at the Rotofugi booth (#5248) starting Preview Night next Wednesday, July 8th… But that’s not all! Joining the “Pastel Fluorescence” series, Grumble Toy will be unleashing their latest collaboration with Japanese producers Amapro, Manmorah (not pictured). Limited to just 2 pieces, the figure will set you back just $60…
Whilst we won’t pretend to know much about Amapro outside of their work with Grumble Toys, their latest release, Goseimaju, is just too crazy to ignore… From what we can gather, the series appears to consist of a variety of different custom one-off configurations, with the soft vinyl figures featuring chest busting heads, grafted bodies and winged apes that would leave even the most dubious of animal testers feeling squeamish! Releasing at the Doki Doki Osaka Sofubi Event last weekend in a Frankenruge-inspired mix of metallic green, blue and purple sprays on pink vinyl, the remaining 2 pieces, 13Go and 26Go (pictured), are currently up for grabs through forwarding service M-World for 7,800yen (approx. $80) and 8,800yen (approx. $90) respectively.
