Art Junkie’s Calm Cat 4 at One-Up…

Japanese artist Art Junkie is proud to announce that the fourth version of his ever popular Calm Cat sofubi mini will be touching down in the One-Up store later this week! Coming in at around 3″ tall, the adorable gacha-style figure has once again been cast in a white soft vinyl, this time coming with gorgeous dark brown sprays with blue/black painted detailing. Going on sale exclusively through the One-Up store this Friday, August 19th at 9pm Japan time, Calm Cat 4 will set you back just 2,500yen plus shipping…

Tired of reading about all of these awesome Japanese shows without a hope of bagging any of their wares? Then you’ll be glad to know that One-Up have taken heed with the announcement of One-Up Fes, an online show that’ll be running ahead of Wonderfestival Summer ’16 this week! Featuring all of the One-Up regulars in an array of dazzling new colorways, so far we have (clockwise from top); the debut of Super Robot (4,300yen), the “Poison Arrow 4” Keronga (2,600yen), “GID/Deep Purple” Omega (3,500yen), “Red Dragon” Koijara (2,800yen), “Phase 2” Tsun (4,320yen, “Blue” Mogudon (2,600yen), “Golden” Mount Workshop Gorilla (3,500yen), “Animal Eyes” Calm Cat 3 (2,500yen), “Bubble Wrap” Garura (1,000yen) and the “Golden Jet” Lion Head (3,800yen). Shinichiro Kato of Art Junkie fame is proud to reveal that he’ll be joining forces with One-Up for the release of his latest sofubi mini, the adorable Calm Cat! Similar to One-Up’s previous gacha-style releases, the 3-eyed feline appears to stand at around 2.5″ tall, coming with one point of articulation in the neck. Likely to be making an appearance in the One-Up gachapon machines in a variety of colors early next year, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for an online release soon…

Joining a limited restock of Deku the Buster’s third colorway, “Crisis” (check him out here if you haven’t already), the guys over at Jungle have revealed that they’ll also be unleashing an all-new colorway of Uky Daydreamer‘s UD Mask sofubi mini this weekend too! A collaboration between Uky and Japanese illustrator Art Junkie, the little lucha-style wrestler stands at around 2.5″ tall, features articulation at the neck and comes with an awesome 2-faced design. Produced in an unpainted hot pink soft vinyl for the release, UD Mask will be up for grabs from the Jungle store this Saturday, April 11th at 1pm Japan time for an undisclosed sum…


MAN-E-NEWS// The Sister Mayo sofubi micro from Rampage Toys x Art Junkie…

As promised in our post last week, Jon Malmstedt over at Rampage Toys has just loaded his store with a batch of Art Junkie‘s latest sofubi micro, the adorable Sister Mayo! Designed and sculpted by the artist based on his real-life martial arts expert sister, Mayo, the sub 2″ figure has been produced by Rampage in a number of different colourways for this first run. Originally debuting at “Karate Bravo” in Shibuya’s The Game last Saturday, Jon is offering up the same choice of unpainted blanks that were available at the event, with just $18 securing a blind assortment of 3 figures (with 1 random random hand paint guaranteed). Joined by a super-limited “Rainbow Cyborg” version for $10 (pictured above), Sister Mayo can be found in-store right here whilst supplies last…

Originally posted as a test shot way back in March, Jon Malmstedt over at Rampage Toys has just revealed that the Sister Mayo sofubi micro will finally be making its debut at the Karate Bravo event in Shibuya’s The Game this Saturday, June 21st! Designed and sculpted by Art Junkie based on his real-life martial arts expert sister, Mayo, the sub 2″ figure has been produced by Rampage in a number of different colourways for the event. To be sold via gacha, with a slew of both unpainted and painted versions up for grabs, we’re guessing the little guys will be up for grabs at around 500-1,000yen ($5-$10) each. Overseas collectors will be glad to know that Jon has a batch planned for the Rampage store at some point next week- so be sure to stay tuned for full release details as soon as we get ’em!


MAN-E-NEWS// Uky Daydreamer x Art Junkie’s UD vs AJ sofubi protos revealed…

Uky Daydreamer have revealed that they will be teaming up with Art Junkie for the release of a new sofubi mini set! Little has been revealed about the project so far, but it appears that the 2 masked luchas, “UD vs AJ”, have been designed separately by the pair, with the intention of mixing up both head and body parts for future releases (as shown in the pics above!). Due to be making their debut at Design Fiesta Vol.39 in May, be sure to stay tuned for any further developments as soon as we hear anything…
