Originally announced right here last month, we can now reveal the Mad Wrestlers from Monster Island x Disart ToyLabs in their final packaging! Heavily inspired by the Weirdballs mini figure off-shoots, these ingenious little guys feature recast and reduced Madball heads that have been kit-bashed with a number of different M.U.S.C.L.E bodies. Featuring a total of 6 different designs from Monster Island’s Paul Bass – 3 more than the original release – the group have all been recast by our very own Tru:Tek in a flexible, UV resistant rubber. Coming packed on authentic, hand cut “Madballs Vs. M.U.S.C.L.E” cardbacks featuring art from AshMadeThis, these limited edition blistered versions will be up for grabs through Monster Island and ourselves soon. Due to come packed with exclusive artwork from tattooist/illustrator AshMadeThis, the Mad Wrestlers will be up for grabs in a number of limited colorways soon, with the main drop penciled in for DCon in November. Unfortunately missed our in our main reveal late last week, we’re proud to present the final exclusive we’ve brought along to NYCC… the “Bootleg Black” Bartholio from AshMadeThis and Disart ToyLabs! Kit-bashed by our very own Tru:Tek with sculpted elements from NolanJP, the vintage Beavis bandy toy has been recast in hard resin, this time around coming with a paint scheme inspired by the classic bootleg Bart Simpson tees of the 90’s. Limited to an edition of just 10 figures – each coming with a unique shirt slogan – each comes bagged with a custom header from AshMadeThis for just $45 a pop. Going on sale during Preview Night later on today, be sure to come and check them out early as we can’t imagine them hanging around for long!
Whilst fans are going to have to wait until NYCC for the next official painted run, AshMadeThis‘ hilarious Bartholio is set to return for Streets of Beige’s upcoming Plastik Schmack group show as a one-off “Swag Hipster” custom! Kit-bashed by our very own Tru:Tek with sculpted elements from NolanJP, the vintage Beavis bandy toy has been recast in hard resin at the Disart ToyLabs, coming complete with a full hipster makeover courtesy of Ash- including a #YOLO marbled shirt and a blood splattered header with the slogan “Once is too many”! Inspired by Ash’s hugely popular pin badge design of the same name, the hilarious mash-up of iconic 90′s cartoons has been booted by Disart’s Tru:Tek from a vintage 4″ Beavis bendy toy, coming with an originally sculpted Bart head from none other than NolanJP. Available in 3 different open-run editions; a keshi-style rubber “Naked Bart” and “Naked Beavis” priced at £10 each, plus a resin “OG Hand Paint” run at £25, each 4″ non-articulated figure comes packed with a custom header from Ash based on the original bendy toy cardback. Bartholio “OG Hand Paint” edition- Cast up in a hard resin, these have been painstakingly hand painted by Ash to match the colours of the original bendy toy release (albeit with bright yellow skin!), each coming with a unique metal-tinged slogan scrawled across the front of the tee. Coming bagged with a custom header from Ash inspired by the official backer art, these will be up for grabs at £25 a piece.
Bartholio “Naked Bart” and “Naked Beavis” jumbo keshi editions- Coming in a keshi-style rubber, these playable versions have been produced in yellow and flesh inspired by both Simpsons and Beavis & Butthead skin tones. Once again coming packed with a custom header from Ash, these have been priced at just £10 each.
Debuting in limited numbers at the Cardiff Tattoo and Toy Con this Saturday, July 19th, open pre-orders for all 3 versions will be up for grabs from the AshMadeThis web-store the following Monday, July 21st. Stay tuned for more variants and exclusive editions coming soon!
With the AshMadeThis exclusive “Madball of Death” proving to be a huge sucess at last year’s Cardiff Con, the legendary tattoo artist will once again be teaming up with Tru:Tek of Disarticulators off-shoot, the Disart ToyLabs, for an all-new collaboration this July! Whilst we can’t reveal too much about the project just yet, any fans of Ash’s hilarious Simpsons mash-ups will surely at least have a hint of what’s to come based on the teaser above… Stay tuned for a full reveal of the project as soon as we’ve been given the green light!
