Mishka have teamed up with none other than Splurrt for their latest painted run of Cyco Ape sofubi! Designed by Lamour Supreme and sculpted by Atomic Vomit, the goofy-looking two-headed Kong has been produced in what appears to be a blue soft vinyl this time around, coming with layers of vintage-style metallic and flesh sprays with meticulous have brushed detailing. Presumably limited to a run of just 5 pieces (TBC), these will be touching down in the Splurrt store this Friday, May 20th for an undisclosed sum…
But that’s not all! Aside from current releases, Splurrt has teased images of yet another upcoming figure, the Shinjuku Demon! Inspired by one of the many beasts in Hideyuki Kikuchi’s Demon City Shinjuku, the crab-like figure is said to be small-mid size (we’re guessing around 4″), coming with articulation in the arms and waist. Pictured here as a finished clay prototype, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed the figure makes it into vinyl soon…
Greg Rivera over at Mishka is proud to reveal that the Ghost Cave‘s Cyco Ape sofubi will be returning for a special “blank” release this month! Designed by Lamour Supreme and sculpted by Atomic Vomit, the dual-headed primate stands at a lofty 13″ tall, coming with articulation in arms, feet and necks. Produced in an unpainted light blue soft vinyl and packed with a header card designed by Johnny Ryan (TBC), the Cyco Ape will presumably go on sale through the Ghost Cave store for around $150 soon… Keep track of Greg’s Instagram feed here for the full lowdown!
With NYCC ’15 just a couple of days away now, Greg Rivera over at apparel brand Mishka has started teasing the variety of exclusive toys they’ll have up for grabs at their booth! First up, we have the gorgeous psychedelic Cyco Ape you see above. Standing at an impressive 14″ tall and featuring articulation in the arms and neck, the towering beast has been produced in a bright yellow soft vinyl this time around, complete with eye-catching masked and free “tropical” style sprays. Limited to just 5 pieces this time around, Cyco comes bagged with a giant header for just $200…
Next, we have the “Marbled” Cestodas from Miscreation Toys. Again, standing at an intimidating 14″ tall, these humungous figures have been jointly produced by Lulubell Toys and Toy Art Gallery, coming in a strictly limited selection of one-off two-tone marbled vinyl. Priced at $250 each, these will be up for grabs alongside Cyco at the Mishka booth (#110) starting this Thursday, October 8th…
With SDCC goers having to wait until later in the week to bag their Mishka exclusives (what a drag!!!), co-owner Greg Rivera has decided to have a little pre-con fun with an online micro-run release of blank Cyco Apes! Cast in a glow-in-the-dark soft vinyl, the lumbering 13″ tall beast has been limited to just 5, coming in at $150 each plus shipping. Touching down in the toy/kaiju section of the Mishka store at 12 Noon EST today (07/22), be sure to set your alarm if you’re looking to pick one up as they most certainly won’t be around for long!
Greg Rivera over at Mishka has just revealed that their Cyco Ape kaiju is set to return soon for not 1, but 2 micro-runs courtesy of Mutant Vinyl Hardcore and D-Lux! Information on the releases is still pretty scarce at present save for the teaser from MVH above, but we’re guessing both runs are likely to form part of Mishka’s round of exclusives for SDCC next month. Stay tuned for more info as soon as we hear anything!
