Gory Hole’s Warui Zonbi: Series 1 sticker and pin sets revealed…

With news a little slow today (read: non existent!), we’ve decided to share an upcoming toy-related release from our very own Tru:Tek’s Gory Hole imprint… the Warui Zonbi sticker and enamel pin packs! Featuring Series 1’s SS Wolfgang and zombie baby Selwyn, the pair have been reimagined by famed Japanese horror illustrator Kotobuki Man in his instantly recognisable style, with a group Bikkuriman-style holographic sticker and an SS soft enamel lapel pin marking the first release. Going on sale alongside a plethora of Warui Zonbi one-off sofubi, new Gory Hole t-shirt preorders as well as a number of other pin designs over the next couple of weeks, we suggest keeping a close eye here and on the Gory Hole Instagram feed for the full, exclusive lowdown soon…

MAN-E-NEWS// Gory Hole’s “Zombie Baby” Warui Zonbi sofubi prototype revealed…

ig 3:4 view promo

Briefly mentioned early last month, our editor-in-chief Tru:Tek will be resurrecting Gory Hole in time for a relaunch at DCon in November, bringing along a whole host of goodies including the debut of the brand’s first ever toy line… Warui Zonbi! Heavily inspired by cult horror toys the Ma-Ba Zombies – albeit with a modern twist – the series is set to feature a whole slew of soft vinyl finger puppets inspired not by the silverscreen’s classic monsters, but instead the more obscure cult horror creatures that we ourselves grew up with throughout the 80’s and 90’s. Having already revealed the first figure to make up the 2-part Series 1 – the SS Werewolf – we’re glad to finally be able to reveal his companion today… the hideous Zombie Baby! Heavily inspired by Peter Jackson’s cult horror flick Dead Alive – primarily the disturbing zombie “birthing” scene, the little guy has been re-imagined by Tru:Tek and John Santagada to closely resemble the “split torso” Ma-Ba aesthetic, coming sculpted in-scale by the legendary Makino-san of TTToy at around 2.5″ tall. Due to be produced in sofubi alongside the SS Werewolf in time for DCon, be sure to stay tuned for the full lowdown – including Tru:Tek’s HUGE plans for future releases – soon…

IMG_20140904_155540

Featured right here as a near finished sculpt just last Friday, we can now reveal the second ring in Gory Hole’s upcoming “Monster on Your Finger” series in full! As with all planned rings in the line, this guy has once again been inspired by a famed bootleg monster toy, this time around taking on the infamous Japanese Stretch Monster variant of the late 1970’s. Meticulously recreated by Indonesian artist Baindots exclusively for Gory Hole, the ring is set to feature alongside alongside the original Ooze-It inspired design during the brand’s debut at NYCC, coming in an initial run of 20 pewter casts. Stay tuned for details on packaging, pricing and online availability closer to the event, and be sure to give the new dedicated Instagram account a follow at @goryhole for up to the minute developments…

MAN-E-XCLUSIVE// The Ooze-It inspired “Monster on Your Finger” ring and the coming of Gory Hole…

Today we can exclusively reveal an all-new project from the twisted alter ego of our editor Tru:Tek, Deadman… horror ‘zine, apparel and toy brand, GORY HOLE! Set to debut at NYCC ’14 with a limited sample run of issue “Zero”, alongside prints, t-shirts and other assorted merc, the first product to get a full official reveal comes in the form of the Ooze-It inspired “Monster on Your Finger” ring. The first in a series of jewellery inspired by classic bootleg monster toys, the ring – sculpted and produced in pewter by hugely talented Indonesian artist Baindots – takes on the form of the classic Ooze-It copy, the Cosmos Alien, rather than the original 70’s doll. Due to touch down at the Rampage Toys x Tru:Tek NYCC booth in October, details with regards to packaging, pricing, edition size and online availability will be unveiled closer to the event… You can expect more exclusive news on Gory Hole in the near future too!
