MAN-E-NEWS// NolanJP x Disart ToyLabs’ “Iceclops” mini figure coming soon…

iceclops resin master

Originally revealed as a near-finished clay proto way back here in early July, we’re very proud today to be able to reveal that NolanJP‘s second movie themed GPK-style figure, Iceclops, is finally undergoing production courtesy of Tru:Tek over at the Disart ToyLabs! Paying tribute to Ray Harryhausen’s iconic beast from 1958′s The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, the ingenious mash-up of monster and doll stands at around the same height as the previously released Scary Larry at 2.5″, coming complete with – in true GPK style – an icecream cone horn and lumbering mace. Due to be making its debut at the Rampage Toys x Tru:Tek NYCC booth next month, expect full details on the release as we get closer to the event…

With the first wave of Scary Larrys finally making their way into collectors homes (sorry for the wait guys!), we can now reveal that NolanJP‘s second movie themed GPK-style figure “Iceclops” will be heading into production very soon! Paying tribute to Ray Harryhausen’s iconic beast in 1958′s The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, the ingenious mash-up of monster and doll stands at around the same height as Larry at 2.5″, coming complete with, in true GPK style, an icecream cone horn and mace. Due to be cast up by Tru:Tek over at the Disart ToyLabs, expect a similar array of colour choices as Larry (including the standard 4 Cheap Toy tones!) as well as an all-new “multi-region” VHS box-style packaging. Stay tuned for more info in the coming weeks…

MAN-E-NEWS// NolanJP’s Harryhausen/GPK inspired Cyclops mini revealed…

Screen Shot 2014-05-12 at 16.19.30

Sticking with the Garbage Pail Kid theme today, NolanJP has revealed yet another awesome sculpt in the works inspired by the gross-out trading card series, the mighty Cyclops! Paying tribute to Ray Harryhausen’s iconic beast in 1958’s The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, the ingenious mash-up of monster and doll is already coming together nicely- with just the ice cream cone horn and club left to seal the deal! Coming in at around the same scale as the previously revealed Scary Larry (more on him later in the week), the 2.5″ figure should hopefully be seeing a release in rubber over the next couple of months. Keep track of the artist’s IG feed here for more updates soon…

Originally teased back in February, NolanJP‘s follow up to last years breath-taking Split Kit custom mini figure is finally about to head into production! Now going by the name of Scary Larry, the beautifully sculpted piece draws inspiration from the work of legendary GPK artist John Pound (primarily his early Eerie Eric sketches), capturing his iconic 2D work in 3D form to a tee. Coming in considerably larger than Split Kit at around 2.5″ tall and almost the same wide, the extra scale has really helped Nolan to go to town on the figure, with the level of detail in particular a huge improvement over the already amazing Kit. Due to be heading into production under the watchful eye of our very own Tru:Tek at the DisArt Studios in the near future, expect details of the first release to follow soon…
