Following our look at the very first test paints last week, Mark Bentley of the newly established MM Toys is proud to present the first official run of Franken Molar resin figures! Designed by Mark and sculpted by his other half Maren Seibold, the loving homage to classic B-Movie monsters, neo-kaiju and cult vintage toy Ooze-It stands at around 5″ tall, coming hand cast in solid resin by the pair. Limited to a batch of 12 for this initial outing; 6 in a mix of unpainted marbled green/orange/pink and 6 fully customised in a mix of green and purple Monster Kolor sprays (including a few additional sculpted extras!), the figures are currently up for grabs blind box-styel at just $40 each plus shipping. MAN-E-NEWS// HipHopRobot’s Franken Molar paint tests revealed…

Screen Shot 2014-05-27 at 14.26.14

First teased here way back in January, the guys over at HipHopRobot have just revealed the very first paint tests for their debut toy, Franken Molar! Pictured here alongside another upcoming release, a collaboration with Cory Rogers entitled “Skull Rose” (more info on that soon!), the 5″ tall figure was designed by HHR’s Mark Bentley and sculpted by his other half Maren Seibold, drawing inspirations from classic B-Movie monsters, neo-kaiju and, of course, the Ooze-It doll to dazzling effect. Originally due to come in soft vinyl, the guys have since decided to take production into their own hands for this one, with this first batch coming hand cast in solid resin by Bentley. Beautifully sprayed in a vivid mix of Monster Kolor paints, this first batch of test paints will be up for grabs at some point later today (5/27) through the HipHopRobot Instagram feed for around $50 each (TBC)… Here’s hoping a bigger batch follows soon, as these 4 are certainly not going to last long!

Screen Shot 2014-01-06 at 14.07.10

Originally revealed as an early work in progress last month, Hip Hop Robot‘s Franken Molar is now just about ready for production! Designed by HHR’s Mark Bentley and sculpted by his better half Maren Seibold, the incredible 5″ tall figure has received numerous changes since we last saw it, including some beautiful Ooze-It inspired textures, a meaner facial expression and the addition of a fully removable “Ooze-Angler” rider! We’re still not completely sure if the piece is fated for resin or sofubi (we’re kind of hoping for both!), so be sure to stay tuned for the full lowdown once the decision has been made soon. Those interested in taking a closer look at the figure, plus HHR’s numerous other ongoing projects, are going to need to head over to the dedicated IG feed right here
