Having recently debuted at Wonderfestival Winter 2015, KtoKto‘s Kaibutsu (Monster) Series 2 returns for it’s first official online release! Inspired by a mix of both classic monster designs and 80s Japanese horror toys – including the iconic MaBa Zombies – this second wave once again features a total of 3 different designs; a quad-eyed Werewolf, Creature from the Black Lagoon and a de-tombed mummy, each sculpted in the classic finger puppet style and produced in an uncapped soft vinyl. Cast in an unpainted green to mimmick the past Series 1 release, the little guys have been packed with a header rather than the usual box format this time around, coming in at a wallet friendly 3,700yen ($31) plus shipping. Currently up for grabs via e-mail lottery until Thursday, February 28th at 6pm Japan time, interested parties can hit up the KtoKto blog right here for details on how to enter…

But that’s not all! Never one to rest on his laurels, KtoKto’s Sato Takehito has been hard at work prepping Series 3! Pictured here as early clay prototypes, the third round is once again set to feature 3 different designs; Frankenstein’s monster, a grave dwelling zombie and Dracula. Teased here a couple of weeks back in wax prototype form, the next round of figures from Japanese artist KtoKto‘s Kaibutsu (Monster) series have finally been revealed in-full! Inspired by a mix of both classic monster designs and 80s Japanese horror toys – including the iconic MaBa Zombies – this second wave once again features a total of 3 different designs; a quad-eyed Werewolf, Creature from the Black Lagoon and a de-tombed mummy, each sculpted in the classic finger puppet style and produced in an uncapped soft vinyl. Pictured here as the very first test shots, we’ve been told that the little guys will be making their debut at Wonder Festival 2015 in February- here’s hoping for a Western release soon after!

Originally teased here over the weekend, DeathCat Toys‘ take on KtoKto‘s Kaibutsu (Monster) Series will be making their way online later today! Featuring all 3 designs from the first wave of mini figures; hopping vampire “Jiangshi”, horned cyclops “Scream”, and tombed mummy “Tutankhamun”, the 2.5″ tall finger puppet style sculpts have been produced in a black soft vinyl this time around, coming with a number of sprays and hand painted detailing from DeathCat’s Johan Ulrich. Each packed in their own custom made coffin box, the trio will be touching down in the DeathCat Toys store today at Noon Eastern time for $80 plus shipping for the set…

With KtoKto currently sculpting DeathCat Toys‘ “Magic of the Void” series for Toy Art Gallery, owner Johan Ulrich has revealed that he will be returning the favour by painting a run of the artist’s Kaibutsu (Monster) Series mini figures! Featuring all 3 designs from the first wave; hopping vampire “Jiangshi”, horned cyclops “Scream”, and tombed mummy “Tutankhamun”, the 2.5″ tall finger puppet style figures have been produced in a black soft vinyl this time around with paint application still to be revealed. Due to touch down in the DeathCat Toys store at some point in the near future, we’ll be bringing you guys the full lowdown as soon as we hear anything…

With his first round of “Monster” sofubi minis already proving to be a huge success, Japanese artist KtoKto has just revealed that a second wave is about to head into production! Inspired by a mix of both classic monster designs and 80s Japanese horror toys – including the iconic MaBa Zombies – this second batch once again features a total of 3 different designs; a quad-eyed werewolf, a creature from the Black Lagoon and a de-tombed mummy, each sculpted in the classic finger puppet style and due to be produced in an uncapped soft vinyl. Pictured here as finished wax prototypes, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for a debut release before the year is out…

Having seen instant sellout success at both Wondefestival and yesterday’s Superfetival 66, we’ve decided to shine a little light on the debut line from Japanese artist KtoKto… the awesome Monster Series! Inspired by a mix of both classic monster designs and 80s Japanese horror toys – including the iconic MaBa Zombies – the first wave of figures features a total of 3 different designs; a horned demon, mummy and hopping vampire, each sculpted in the classic finger puppet style and produced in an uncapped soft vinyl. Pictured above in the Superfestival 66 exclusive painted and blank clear purple colorways, each of the little guys came packaged in stunning coffin-style boxes for just 4,000yen ($37) and 3,000yen ($27) respectively. Unfortunately whilst there’s no news of international sales at present, we’re sure the continued success will mean a release over here at some point in the future- fingers crossed!
