MAN-E-XCLUSIVE// WIP Martin Hairybottom H.U.S.T.L.E mini figure from UME Toys…

With the H.U.S.T.L.E Artist Series: Wave 1 releases now in full swing, we’ve decided to start sharing some of the entries that’ve been pouring in for Wave 2, the first of which coming from our good friend Richard Page over at UME Toys… Entitled Martin Hairybootom, the micro-sized incarnation of UME’s flagship character has been sculpted on top of the Puyo Puyo chibi M.U.S.C.L.E, standing just under 1.5″ tall. Due to come cast in a flexible keshi-style rubber by our very own Tru:Tek, the proto, along with an exclusive limited preview batch, will be on display at Unbox Industries ToyCon UK booth… Stay tuned for test shots, more figure reveals and details on the latest Wave 1 colourways over the coming weeks!

MAN-E-NEWS// The “Friday 13th” Hugo and more from UME Toys…

To celebrate the second of three Friday 13th’s this year, Richard Page over at UME Toys has decided to bring Halloween to July with a whole host of themed releases… plus a brand-spanking new resin! Originally featuring as a stunning original sculpt at NYCC last year, the pumpkin headed Hugo has been given the mini-UME makeover for his debut in resin, coming with the same British charm that made the recent Martin Longbottom such a success… Rich has stated that he will be casting the buttons separately, so expect some Martin-style variants once they’re all finally revealed! Sitting alongside Hugo come Friday 13th (July), Rich will also be revealing some special trick or treat customs of Martin Longbottom and his pal Jason the ghost, and if that wasn’t enough, we’re told of plans of a very special competition! MAN-E-NEWS// Levi the Lycan one-off sculpt from UME Toys…

After a solid month working in the UME resin lab in preparation for the release of Martin Longbottom, Richard Page has made a welcome return to the clay with the reveal of Levi the Lycan! Sculpted in the unmistakable UME aesthetic, the hairy little creature has the same adorable arms, clumpy feet and knowing smile that has made a certain Mr Longbottom such a success. Painted in Rich’s familiar vivid blue/pink colour scheme, with brown, flesh and black detailing, the cheerful little guy stands at around 4″ tall. No news as to wether Levi is available to purchase, so your best bet is to hit Rich up directly at umetoys@googlemail.com with any enquiries…


MAN-E-NEWS// UME Toys’ Martin Longbottom release information revealed…

The wait is finally over! After posting several updates on the progress of Martin Longbottom’s transition into a fully fledged resin release, Rich over at UME has just revealed the full details on this truly awesome release. Featuring a mixture of raw DIY blanks, a plethora of different custom runs, plus the much talked about flocked Fuzzybottoms! Coming blind boxed in accordance to their paint scheme/finish (check the line-up below), one extremely lucky collector will find a golden ticket nestled in with their Martin, which will treat them to their very own custom painted Jason from the recently released Kings of Resin series, plus a whole host of other UME goodies! Set to land on the UME Toys store this Thursday (May 31st) at 8pm London time, be sure to get in quick… Rich has had A LOT of interest in these guys! Martin Rawbottom:
Do you fancy making a custom Martin yourself? If you do then a Rawbottom is the Martin for you. Rawbottom Martins are fresh resin pull; sanded and assembled (legs attached and filled) with his hat unattached, ready for whatever you want to do to him (please be gentle).

Martin Longbottom OG colour way:
He was born to green and that’s the way his Dad love’s him. This version of Martin comes in OG green with light green details and sports his trademark hat. But some of these little fellas have grown a rather dashing moustache (they must take after me), others are trying to look innocent and some are sporting the smooth look – who will you end up with?

Martin Bluebottom:
He’s not blue because he’s unhappy but couldn’t resist eating too many blueberries when I wasn’t looking. Bluebottom comes in one of UME’s house colours, wicked blue topped off with lighter blue details. Watch out though as there are only 2 of this chap around.

Martin Pinkbottom:
The Pinkbottom twins’ sport an awesome metal hot pink flake finish highlighted with a lush pearl all thanks to guys over at MonstorKolor paints, proving that metal rocks!

Martin Fuzzybottom:
These Martins are made to be stroked – flocked in a super touchable pink, green, blue or purple fuzzy finish they are sure to stand out on your toy shelf. Super limited edition run of only 4 pieces these little flockers are ready for a cuddle.

MAN-E-NEWS// Beep the Hopbot and a peak at the first Martin Longbottom custom from UME Toys (UPDATED)…

Never a weekend goes by without the reveal of yet more awesome work from Rich over at UME Toys, and this one’s no different! Beep the Hopbot is another beautiful one-off sculpt, taking the iconic 80’s hip hop aesthetic and mixing it up with Rich’s instantly recognisable style. Standing at a sizeable 4″ tall, the adorable tracksuited bot has been lovingly painted in Rich’s signature palette of vivid blues, offering a great contrast to the subtle weathering that we’ve been seeing in his work recently. No news on whether this stunning piece is available to purchase, so our best bet is to hit Rich up directly at umetoys@googlemail.com with any enquiries…

Rich has also been busy a work in the UME resin lab for the past week, preparing for the imminent release of a certain Martin Longbottom! With more info to follow next week (including the reveal of an extra special edition!), we thought we’d share with you a shot of the very first Longbottom custom. As you can see, he’s still an early work-in-progress, but is already bearing the hallmarks of a great UME piece! Stay tuned for an update next week…

UPDATE//

It appears that just moments after posting the above WIP shot, Rich revealed the finished piece! Coming in the official Martin Longbottom green/purple colour scheme seen in earlier sculpts, this custom will unfortunately not be for sale- he’s already made a home at the UME studio with his bigger brother! Stay tuned for more news next week on the planned DIY Longbottoms, painted Martins and some awesome trick finishes…


MAN-E-NEWS// Richard UME’s Jason for the “Kings of Resin” blindbox series…

With the release of Tenacious Toys and Dead Hand Toys‘ “Kings of Resin” series set for tomorrow (Friday,May 18th), we’ve decided to take a little look at one of our favourite contributions, Jason the cheeky ghost from Rich UME! Standing at around 3″ tall with hat, the beautifully minimal sculpt was based on a popular character Rich created a while back. With a similar clean aesthetic to UME Toys’ upcoming Martin Longbottom release, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that we manage to bag one of 5 one-off hand paints that Rich submitted for the series. Priced at just $25 each (an absolute steal for a unique resin piece), the randomly allocated figures will be hitting the Tenacious Toys store at 8pm (EST) sharp…

Resin is King Series 1 is a 40-piece blind-boxed resin series featuring the work of: Brian Ahlbeck, Matt A*, Bad Applez Inc., Motorbot, Jay222, Rich Page and Dave Bondi. There will be a Golden Ticket for a custom-painted Teuth figure by Brian Ahlbeck randomly inserted into one blind box.”


MAN-E-UPDATE// Martin Longbottom from UME Toys… Now in resin!

Swiftly following the reveal of Martin Longbottom V.3 over the weekend (find out more here), Richard Page spent the whole of yesterday locked away in the UME Toys resin lab- with the breathtaking results shown above! Limited to an initial batch of 10, the super-smooth castings just require some minor assembly and paint (plus some cheeky details) and then they’ll be good to go! No news on pricing, release dates or colour schemes as of yet, so be sure to stay locked onto the UME Toys blog for more info in the coming days…
