MAN-E-NEWS// The SDCC exclusive “CHORKO” from Skinner x Healeymade…

Screen Shot 2014-07-13 at 13.13.26

With CHARLOR proving to be huge success at SDCC last year, Skinner has called upon the talents of Healeymade for the return of the “Mansons of the Universe” series, proudly presenting twisted wizard of the black arts, CHORKO! A hilarious mash-up of MOTU’s Orko and Skinner’s originally sculpted “Charlie” head, the 3.5″ tall figure marks a stark contrast to the psychedelic look of CHARLOR, instead coming decked out in Healey’s minimal palette of jet black with neon green highlights. Due to be touching down exclusively at Skinner’s SDCC booth (#5051) next week (23rd July- 27th July), CHORKO will be up for grabs at $80 a piece…

Fresh from the success of Dead DieBia$e & Co, the guys over at Goodleg Toys are proud to present their 2nd Series of Wrestlers of the Universe (WotU) figures, introducing Moneybash, Mermaniac, and the 2-Badders tag team, Nuke & Clutch!  Once again kit-bashed from iconic 90s WWF and 80s MotU action figures, this initial batch, rather aptly titled the ‘Soda Pop’ edition, has been cast in a mix of translucent exhilirant colours. Priced at just $35 each or $120 for a set of 4, each figure comes packed with a header card from the legendary Ralph Niese. Preorders start this Sunday, at Midnight GMT+1 on the Goodleg store right here… Supply is said to be super-limited, so WotU fanboys better be fast if they want to get their fingers on these rad colourways!

MAN-E-NEWS// The 2-Tone Skelitor M.U.S.C.L.E’s of the Universe from Eric Nilla…

eric1

Originally teased way back at the beginning of the month, Eric Nilla has just dropped his latest batch of MOTU (M.U.S.C.L.E’s of the Universe) figures, the special edition 2-Tone Skelitors… Originally created by Solar Color Dust’s Wolf Voigt, the M.U.S.C.L.E x MOTU mash-up has been recast using a special ‘spot’ technique that results in the awesome 2-Tone effect seen above. Produced in an extremely run of just 7 one-off pieces at the moment, the figures can be found on the Nilla store for just $16 plus shipping… Joining Skelitor, Eric has also been kind enough to drop another 2 highly anticipated figures onto the store as well. The recently posted ‘Fish’ Ghoulie re-make and Hellopike’s Kinnikuthulhu both make their debut, available in a huge selection of different colours for just $13 and $15 a piece… Anyone interested is going to need to head over to the store quick, stock has already begun to quickly disappear!

MAN-E-NEWS// The Jitsu resin Chopping Hand from Huggington’s Twisted Toys…

hugingtons

Following our look at Bombermat Toys earlier today, we bring you details of yet another intriguing custom bootlegger to emerge recently- Huggington’s Twisted Toys… Details on upcoming projects are pretty scarce at the moment, but it would appear that the guys will be focusing on modifying classic action figures with an eye to enhancing their best features- the first up, a custom Jitsu MOTU, featuring an awesome oversized 200x ‘Chopping Hand’ that replaces the rather weedy chromed original! Hand cast in resin and given a superb ‘weathered’ brush finish, the one-off piece can be acquired by getting in touch with the guys through their Facebook page here. We’d kind of like to see a limited run of the hand on it’s own (there’s a stack of figures that come to mind that would look incredible with it attached!), so here’s keeping our finger crossed we see more of them in the future…

Following our exclusive look at Dest-Ro, the honour fell upon Nerd City for the reveal of ManOrMonster? Studio‘s second (In)action Figure Show entry… the incredible Rob-N-Mask MOTUMU! The third figure in the series to be unveiled so far, Rob-N-Mask pays an ingenius tribute to our favourite 80’s toy line M.U.S.C.L.E, featuring a mixture of booted vintage MOTU and TMNT parts that have been cleverly utilised to create one of the series’ most iconic characters, valiant knight Robin Mask! Cast in an authentic M.U.S.C.L.E flesh tone, the resin piece once again comes with neo-mag joints that can be fully interchanged with all MOTUMU and Warlords of Wor figures… Limited to just 5 pieces for the show, we should hopefully be seeing more in the ManOrMonster? store at some point in the near future. Stay tuned for the studio’s final 2 reveals later this week!
