Rampage Toys x The Tarantulas’ Nibblers at the Sofubi Saloon…

It’s been quite some time since we last saw a release of The Tarantulas’ Nibbler sofubi, so it came with great pleasure this morning to find that Rampage Toys‘ Jon Malmstedt will be reviving it for his next Sofubi Saloon event this month! Standing at around 4.5″ tall and featuring 4 points of articulation, the Real Head-produced figure has been cast in a banana yellow soft vinyl this time around, coming in Jon’s signature palette of blue sprays with red have painted detailing. Going on sale at the Pump Craft Beer Bar in Minami Ikebukuro on August 18th alongside the first painted Paleo Don and new Cyclops Dinos, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that a few are held back for online sales soon after…

Following a long hiatus, The Tarantulas are set to return next week with an all-new Nibbler release! Inspired by vintage Star Wars sound chip tags, the 5″ tall figures have been produced in a color-changing “Aurora” sofubi this time around, complete with masked clear pink, blue and silver sprays that mimic the tags’ holographic panels. Going on sale in limited quantities through an as-yet-unknown store this coming Friday, February 19th, be sure to keep a close eye on The Tarantulas IG feed here for the full lowdown soon…

Jon Malmstedt over at Rampage Toys is proud to announce that he’s teamed up with The Tarantulas and Onell Design for the release of the “Winter Nibbler” for the first time in sofubi! Seeing a few very limited appearances in resin since its debut back in 2010, the Tarantulas-designed figure has been re-produced by Malmstedt in soft vinyl, coming complete with the same Glyos-compatible joint system (a first for sofubi, if we’re not mistaken!) and a standard capped base. Due to be making its debut some time in September – presumably at Superfestival – expect the full lowdown on these awesome figures as soon as we have it…

Whilst information remains scarce at present, it would appear that the highly sought after RealxHead collaboration has been produced in an unpainted gold lamé soft similar to the recent “Glitter Bomb” Unchiman and Finger5 sets (check them out here). Likely to retail at around £30-£35 each, expect to find these at the Toy Shack booth at some point on Saturday, April 25th. Look out for more reveals from The Tarantulas later in the week!

Marking their first official appearance since ToyCon ’14 last April, it would appear from the teaser above that they’ll be offering up the very last batch of Future Nibbler resin figures. Pictured here minus attachments, expect a full reveal of the highly sought after Glyos-compatible figure as we get closer to the event…

Whilst details are still very thin on the ground at the moment, Jon has revealed that the project will be kicked off with the sale of the Homer-inspired Nibbler you see above at some point next week. Stay tuned for more details on this intriguing proposal as soon as we hear anything!
