Hot on the heels of the recent Unbox-produced “NutiPati” (check it here), the guys over at Purple Toys have just unveiled yet another all-new soft vinyl figure! Provisionally titled “Run to Hell”, this huge ball shaped piece appears to have been inspired by a number of cult 80’s staples including Madballs and Nightmare on Elm Street, coming with a beautifully textured surface that looks like it’s going to be a whole lot of fun to paint… Whilst details are still thin on the ground at present, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that the figure, along with the companion omake pictured, will be making it’s debut before the year is out…

We don’t seem to feature too many privately commissioned customs on Man-E-Toys these days, but upon seeing the latest work from Japanese artists Le Kuo and Gusion M, we simply couldn’t resist… presenting their incredible “Freddy Krueger” Longneck Moon Maijin! Garnering a huge amount of attention recently for their miniaturised apparel-based customs, the pair’s latest, Nightmare on Elm Street-inspired piece follows a similar approach, featuring a hand sewn red and black striped jumper, spiked glove and leather fedora over the top of a gore-soaked flesh and black paint app. Whilst unfortunately already in the hands of one seriously lucky collector, anyone interested in bagging a similar piece can hit the guys up at vicious0310@gmail.com with their enquiries…

Taking a brief sidestep from his regular 3.75″ output, custom bootleg artist Junkfed has just unveiled his latest figure, the Nightmare Bear! Featuring what appears to be a vintage kit-bashed Care Bear toy as a base, the ingenious Nightmare on Elm Street mash-up features a slew of re-sculpted elements, including the iconic Freddy claw, scarred skin, striped jumper and trilby hat. Hand cast in resin and treated to a faithful paint app in red, dark green, brown and flesh acrylic, the 3.5″ tall figure comes complete with articulation in both the legs and arms. Due for release in the Junkfed store in the near future, be sure to stay tuned for full release details soon…

The guys over at Toy Tokyo have just revealed 2 of the many exclusives they’ll have on offer at NYCC next month, the “8-bit” Freddy and Jason ReAction figures! Based on the original NECCA 7″ 8-bit figures released last year – which in turn were based on the ill-fated Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday 13th video games – the pair have been reduced down to 3.75″ action figure scale courtesy of Super7 and Funko for the release. Whilst full details are still to be confirmed, we’ll be hoping the duo come housed in similar retro-style window box dioramas as the originals- fingers crossed! Stay tuned for more news on the figures – as well as Toy Tokyo’s other exclusives – as we get closer to the event…
