  • Inspired by the original Gomora sofubi, Gosaura has been designed and digitally sculpted in 3d by Planet X
  • Produced in a lavender soft vinyl, Gosaura comes complete with metallic blue, pink and vibrant yellow sprays for this release

Originally teased in vinyl test-shot form back in September, the latest Fake Spectreman figure (#6) from Awesome Toy will finally be touching down later this month! With the ongoing series based on pachi (bootleg) renditions of P Productions’ classic tokusatsu character “Spectreman”, this new version have been inspired by a little known Brazilian comic, featuring an altogether more angular and stylised look than previous renditions of the super-cyborg. Making it’s way into the Medicom Toy store via open preorder starting December 24th, the 9.5″ tall soft vinyl figure will set you back just 9,720yen ($80) plus shipping…

Note// Due to licensing agreements, we still cannot confirm whether the figure will be available for overseas sales.

MAN-E-NEWS// The “Artist Collection” Fake Baron keshi from Bigmantoys x Awesome Toy…

As promised earlier, we bring you yet more news from Awesome Toy today, as the Hong Kong-based toy producer introduces one of a series of figures from their recently announced “Artist Collection”… the “FAKE BARON” keshi from Bigmantoys! Drawing inspiration from the classic era of mini figures, the M.U.S.L.E-esque piece has been digitally sculpted by BMT’s Lee Burbridge, coming authentically scales at around 2″ tall. Produced in a keshi-style rubber and treated to a knock-off style header card (not pictured), these little guys are set to make their debut at Superfestival 69 this coming Sunday, September 27th. Having had success with the first 2 waves of Fake Spectreman releases mid-last year, Awesome Toy are proud to announce that a fifth variant will be heading into production next week! With the series based on pachi (bootleg) renditions of P Productions’ classic tokusatsu character Spectreman, this new version has been inspired by a little known Brazilian comic, featuring an altogether more angular take on the well known super-cyborg. Presumably set to feature one of the two bodies that made up the first batch of releases, expect confirmation once a full reveal has been posted over the coming weeks…

Originally announced back in January, the first release in Awesome Toy‘s FAKE BARON Battle Pack series – FAKE BARON Vs. Duo Gero – is finally set for release this week! For those that missed our original post, the guys kindly share a little background about the project… “Imagine Fake Baron is a real tv show, whereby in each episode Fake Baron will be fighting different enemy. It is a collaboration project between Awesome Toy and many other sofubi makers around the world. In each battle set, we will be painting other sofubi brand’s character and the partnered brand doing the same for our Fake Baron…” Featuring a pair of Slave One‘s Gero figures alongside the pachi super ‘bot – one in red vinyl and the other, lavender (pictured) – the first “episode”, an edition of just 15-20 sets, will be up for grabs via e-mail lottery over the next few days. Be sure to stay tuned for a full reveal plus details on how to enter later in the week…
