Originally releasing in extremely limited numbers last year, Rick Dries aka PlasticPlayhouse’s awesome “Oot Keshi” figure has returned for one final outing! Based on the brain-like “Utrom” aliens in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – the most prolific of course being Krang – the originally sculpted figure features an aesthetic similar to Neca’s now cancelled TMNT series, opting for a minimal, stylised approach that’s also in-keeping with traditional keshi. Cast by none other than Eric Nilla in a one-off edition of 25, just 10 of the flesh-toned rubber mini figures remain, with PP currently offering them up either blank for $20, or painted (pictured) for just $25. Interested parties can hit the artist up directly at firstname.lastname@example.org with any enquiries…
Originally revealed here a few weeks back, Plastic Playhouse‘s Utrom (Krang) keshi is due for an official release soon! Sculpted to fit alongside Neca’s TMNT figures, a staple for the prolific customiser, the first batch have been cast in a flesh-tone rubber, coming with paint accents from the artist himself. News on the release of these is still pretty thin on the ground at the moment, but the figures’ producer, Eric Nilla, has confirmed that he will be unleashing his very own exclusive colourway sometime in late October/early November. Interested in having your say as to the choice of colour? Well then you’ll be glad to know that Eric is taking suggestions directly through his IG feed here. Stay tuned for release specifics soon!
Mini figure customiser Rick Dries aka PlasticPlayhouse has teamed up with Eric Nilla for the release of his latest figure, the custom Utron keshi! Based on the brain-like aliens in TMNT (the most infamous being Krang!), Dries has opted for an aesthetic similar to Neca’s rendition, going for a minimal, stylised approach much more in-keeping with traditional keshi. Cast by Nilla in a super-limited run of flesh-toned rubber for PP’s personal collection, here’s hoping for a general release at some point in the near future…
The highly talented Plastic Playhouse delves into 90’s pop culture once more as he proudly presents his latest M.U.S.C.L.E custom… an ode to Mortal Kombat’s Goro! Using the four armed ‘Ashuraman No Sensei’ figure, PP has painted him up in the final boss’ familiar orange tone, complete with subtle washes, meticulous highlights and even a newly sculpted pony tail! Currently available to purchase through PP’s dedicated LRG thread here, we suggest heading over pretty quick if you’re interested- he most definitely wont be around for long!
It’s been a while since we last featured the amazing talent of Plastic Playhouse here at Man-E-Toys, so without further ado we bring you his latest custom series, the “Eagles of the Elements” Laser Beasts! Created as a commission for a private collector, PP was tasked with painting the classic 80’s minifigures in the different colours of the elements; wind, earth, fire, lightening, wood, water, time and space (ok, 4 have been stretched to 8, but when they look this good, who cares?!), each coming with a stunning customised chest plate… As mentioned before, these little guys are already winging their way to one lucky collector, so if you’re interested in grabbing a similar set, your best bet is to hit PP up at his dedicated LRG page right here with any enquiries.
“His back spines alight as he charges up for his atomic breath attack…”
It’s been a while since we’ve featured the work of Plastic Playhouse, so to celebrate the amazing success of our Nama x Nilla exclusives a couple of weeks back, we’ve decided to take a look at a recent custom he’s created based on the duo’s most prolific M.U.S.C.L.E custom to date… the awesome Manzilla 2! Named “Monzira”, the stunning figure has been painted by Plastic Playhouse as a homage to the original Godzilla, featuring a tight black and grey colour scheme with blue accented spine and belt buckle. Although not for sale, anyone interested in picking up a similar custom should head over to Plastic Playhouse’s LRG page here with any enquiries… Still looking to pick up the standard Manzilla figure? Then you’ll be glad to know that we’re still carrying a very limited supply in our store here.
We previously featured the awesome custom work of Plastic Playhouse a few weeks back (check them out here) to a great response from our readers, so today we’ve decided to take a look at another project the highly talented artist has just completed- the Toy Story inspired custom S.L.U.G Zombies! Taking the cowboy and astronaut zombie designs from the highly popular monochromatic mini-figure series, PP has set to work with his usual flair, giving the pair an incredible “Woody” and “Buzz” makeover. Painted in the duo’s instantly recognisable colours, we particularly love the little details that have been wedged in to such a small scale- Buzz’s neon purple flat top just one ingenious feature of many… Available through the dedicated Little Rubber Guys thread here, Woody and Buzz can be yours for just $40 plus shipping.
