Longneck’s latest “Maijin” sofubi revealed…

Still proving hugely popular in Japan and just as elusive  as ever to obtain in the West, Longneck/Cosmo Knight Alpha‘s Maijin series is set to receive a new entrant soon in the form of the fine looking chap you see above! Whilst the original Yusei Maijin featured a design inspired by Ooze-It knockoff, Cosmos Alien A, this new iteration appears to be inspired by the vintage gacha series’ Alien B, featuring a similar “fish” shaped head seen in the recent Medicom Toy re-release (check it here). Revealed in prototype form at the recent Comiket convention in Tokyo, we’ll be keeping our fingers that we see more of the figure very soon…

MAN-E-NEWS// The Superfestival 69 exclusive “Prototype” Winter Nibbler sofubi from Rampage Toys x The Tarantulas…

Previously teased right here just a few days back, we can now reveal that the “Winter Nibbler” sofubi from The Tarantulas will be seeing a special “Prototype” release as part of Superfestival 69 this weekend! Originally seeing a number of releases in resin over the years, the fully Glyos-compatible figure has made the transition into soft vinyl courtesy of Rampage Toys, coming complete with a new capped bottom design as well as the original’s interchangeable arm joints. Produced in what appears to be an orange vinyl with yellow and pink sprays plus complementary grey PVC Glyos arms, these “Prototype” versions will be available in strictly limited quantities from the Rampage Superfestival booth this Sunday, September 27th for an undisclosed sum… Look out for the first official release soon!

MAN-E-NEWS// Splurrt’s “Uncle Steve” sofubi prototype revealed…

Originally debuting as an alternative head for the hugely popular Cadaver Twin figure, Splurrt‘s “Uncle Steve” is seeing a new lease of life as a full, standalone sofubi! Dedicated to his own uncle Steve, the figure features a weather-beaten tuxedo and bow tie ensemble inspired by the creepy comics and EC reprints Splurrt was given by the family member as a child- a much more suitable look for the zombified head that the Twin body we think! With the finished clay proto winging its way over to Japan for soft vinyl production as we speak, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for the first release in a few months time…

MAN-E-NEWS// Splurrt’s Cadaver Twins test pull revealed…

Originally revealed here as a prototype back in April, Splurrt‘s latest monstrosity, the Cadaver Twins, have just received their first successful test pull! Pictured here in a green soft vinyl, the beast stands at around 6.5″ tall, coming with an impressive 7 points of articulation. News on a release are still pretty thin on the ground at the moment, but we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that an initial unpainted run will be offered up via preorder on a similar basis to the Apex Diggler soon. Keep track of the Splurrt blog here for more pics and info over the coming weeks!
