Originally debuting at SDCC ’15 in prototype form, Super7‘s officially licensed 3.75″ “Masters of the Universe” ReAction figures will finally see their “OG” standard painted release soon! Closely resembling the 1970’s era action figures, the initial line-up features 4 of MOTU’s most iconic charcaters, each with their own individual weapon – He-Man and the Power Sword, Skeletor and his Havoc Staff, Mer-Man and his sword and Beastman with his whip. Produced in PVC using colors close to Mattel’s original 5.5″ line, each fully articulated figure comes blister packed with individual, hand painted card art from Jason Edmiston. Recently unveiled at the 2016 New York Toy fair, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed on a full retail release for these very soon…

Following the hit first wave of classic designs, the line continues with 4 more additions; Ripley in Spacesuit, Kane with Facehugger, Kane with Chestburster and Metallic Alien; featuring a mix of repurposed sculpts from the first run as well some all-new designs. Produced by Funko in a plastic that is said to be a lot more sturdy and hard wearing than the recent wave of ReAction releases, each of the 4 PVC figures come housed on an authentic blistered card back for just $9.99 each. The guys over at Toy Tokyo have just revealed 2 of the many exclusives they’ll have on offer at NYCC next month, the “8-bit” Freddy and Jason ReAction figures! Based on the original NECCA 7″ 8-bit figures released last year – which in turn were based on the ill-fated Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday 13th video games – the pair have been reduced down to 3.75″ action figure scale courtesy of Super7 and Funko for the release. Whilst full details are still to be confirmed, we’ll be hoping the duo come housed in similar retro-style window box dioramas as the originals- fingers crossed! Stay tuned for more news on the figures – as well as Toy Tokyo’s other exclusives – as we get closer to the event…
