MAN-E-NEWS// Tokyo Jesus’ resin skull sculptures for Clutter Gallery’s “Tenebrous” group show…

Screen Shot 2014-05-28 at 14.11.15

Japanese resin artist Tokyo Jesus has just unveiled a total of 3 pieces that he’ll have on display at Clutter Gallery‘s upcoming Tenebrous group show! In-keeping with the artist’s signature mix of traditional Japanese, yokai and skull-based art, the wonderfully horrific one-off creations have been painstakingly sculpted, coming cast in resin using a time-honoured lost wax technique. Hand painted in a contrasting mix of solid white, blue and red acrylics, against multiple washes in black, ivory and white, the unnamed figures will be joining a whole host of other sculptural pieces (artists TBC) at the show’s opening reception on June 14th from 6pm-9pm. Those interested in purchasing pieces are encouraged to join the gallery’s preview list right here…

MAN-E-NEWS// The “5pm” Unplugged custom from Creo Design…

2new

Following the release of artist Mark Gmehling‘s “Unplugged” as a fully fledged resin sculpture just a few of weeks back, producer Creo Design is proud to present a special one-off custom edition! Originally intended to metaphorically illustrate the daily grind that never stops, Creo took this idea one step further for this piece, giving the rather aptly titled “5pm” a full rust patina to produce a unique rust effect. Standing at an impressive 25cm tall on a mounted display base, the solid cast resin figure will be touching down in the Creo store right here for £500 shipped worldwide (the same price as the standard release!).

MAN-E-NEWS// The Painted Face resin multiple from Big Trubble x Anser…

painted-faceweb

Toronto based Laird Henderson aka Big Trubble has teamed up with established local street artist Anser for the release of the Painted Face resin sculpture! Based on the artist’s reoccurring character of the same name, the stunning 6″ tall piece was sculpt, moulded and cast in resin by Laird, with the finishing line work rather aptly handed over to Anser. Mimicking the way in which the iconic face is never drawn the same way twice (check out some examples on Anser’s IG feed here), the edition of 30 figures have each been produced in a one-off, never to be repeated tint, coming with a stackable top and bottom for easy multiple display. Priced at $300 a piece, the Painted Faces will be making their debut at Anser’s “Crowded Kingdom” show, touching down at the #Hashtag Gallery, 801 Dundas St. W. Toronto, on Thursday, February 27th. Head over to the gallery’s site here for more information on the exhibition…

Teased here just a couple of days back, Patient No.6‘s latest resin sculpture, PTASHKA (In my death i blame my life), has already made it into his store! Marking a slight change in direction from the artist’s usual psychiatry based art, the stunning sculpt features a sinister looking bird perched on an ‘all seeing’ hand, coming cast in an opaque white resin with minimal glossy black and red hand painted detailing. Standing at around 9″ tall, the impressive piece is currently up for grabs in the Patient No.6 store right here for just $86 shipped worldwide…

Easily one of the indie toy scene’s hardest working artists at the moment, Patient No.6 is proud to present his sixth major figure in as many months, the beautiful Ptashka… Whilst the intentions of the piece are still being kept under wraps, it would appear that Patient No.6 has moved away from the psychiatry based art for this figure, with the stunning sculpt featuring a sinister looking bird perched on an ‘all seeing’ hand. Release information is thin on the ground at the moment, but knowing Patient No.6, we’ll be expecting to see the finished article within the next couple of weeks. Interested parties can keep track of his progress through the dedicated IG feed right here
