The “Battle Beasts Battleground” blog…

With the first of our regular retro features – an in depth look into the world of GPK Cheap Toys – touching down later this month, we’ve decided to give a little heads up on it’s writer Ed Crooks‘ own personal project, the Battle Beasts Battleground! Co-created with Official Battlebeasts of Instagram to unite fans of the classic Takara mini figures, the strictly visual blog plays home to over 1000 images from BB collectors worldwide, featuring complete series collection shots, vintage shop visits, rarities, customs and more- all set against a variety of backgrounds (scrap that, battlegrounds!) from around the globe. MAN-E-NEWS// Cop A Squat’s “Fumetsu” sofubi revealed…

Following months of painstaking development, Adam Saul over at Cop A Squat Toys has just unveiled his latest sofubi in-full… presenting the awesome Fumetsu! Heavily inspired by vintage toys such as Astro-Mu 5 – a series we’ll be taking a closer look at later on today – the line is set to feature a total of 4 “trans-human” characters; Vinge, Neuman, Kurzwell and Erewhon, each coming with an ingenious removable torso that reveals a fifth “super computer” character named Allesh that is said to control the quartet from within. Pictured here in a gorgeous magenta test shot vinyl, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that Fumetsu make they’re debut before the year is out…


MAN-E-NEWS// Chris Grondin’s “Belial Ball” revealed…

Whilst we rather impatiently wait for the release of Chris Grondin‘s latest collaboration with Scumbags & Superstars – the “Melting Man” Slimeball – the king of gross-out foam balls is proud to reveal another figure that’ll more than fill the gap for the time being… the incredible Belial Ball! Inspired by cult horror flick Basket Case’s rather unfortunate siamese twin, the beautifully realised piece has been hand sculpted by Chris in-scale with the original Madballs at around 3″ wide, coming cast in an authentic squishy foam and treated to layers of subtle earthy sprays. Limited to an edition of just 10 pieces, we suggest keeping an eye on Chris’ Instagram feed right here for release details soon…


MAN-E-NEWS (UPDATED)// Skullmark’s “SkullWorld Warriors” sofubi revealed…

Wasting no time since the final release in their debut series “Galaxy Commanders” last week, the team behind Skullmark are proud to reveal that their next upcoming sofubi project – the “SkullWorld Warriors” – is already entering the final prototyping stages! As with the Galaxy Commanders, the series has its foot planted firmly in the world of vintage knock off action figures, this time around drawing inspiration from the classic Underworld Warriors of the 1980’s. Featuring a similar, albeit slightly chunkier body to the original 5.5″ figures, the upscaled series is set to include all 6 heads – Krampus, Cobraman, the Devil, Skull, Goblin and Witch – from the original line. Due to go on sale via preorder in the Toy Underground store next week, we’re told that all 6 designs will be available as a complete set from the off. Stay tuned for a full reveal in vinyl, plus those all important release details, over the next few days…

UPDATE// The “Skullworld Warriors” are now up for grabs via preorder through the Toy Underground store right here! Standing at 10.5″ tall and featuring 8 points of articulation each, the stunning figures are initially available as a complete set ahead of “single” releases early next year. Limited to 30 painted sets and just 20 blank, these can be yours for just $450 and $390 respectively… Look out for details of the single releases in Q1 2016!

MAN-E-NEWS// Bad Attic’s “Two Face Todd” Trouballz sofubi available now…

Extensively featured right here on Man-E-Toys since it’s announcement back in June, we can now reveal that the “Two Face Todd” sofubi from Bad Attic Toys is finally up for grabs! The first to feature in the ongoing Madball-inspired “Trouballz” line, the gruesome figure comes in at an authentically scaled 3″ wide, featuring a two faced, gross-out design complete with a rather clever cranium cap joint. Produced in a thick light purple soft vinyl that mimics the knock-off rubber Madballs of the late 1980’s, the first edition has been treated to a stunning array of bootleg-style purple, yellow, orange and green sprays. Coming packed with a matt-finish vintage style trading card in a deluxe showcase-style box, Todd is currently available via e-mail order for just $100 plus shipping. Anyone interested in picking the figure up is going to need to fire over their full name and address to info@badattic.com. Supplies are extremely limited, so be sure to get in there quick!

With Elder Demons: Series 2 set to make its keshi debut soon, creator Johan Ulrich over at DeathCat Toys has wasted no time in working on a follow-up, proudly presenting the first female to the cast… The Fate! Once again designed by Johan and sculpted by KtoKto, the mystic beauty features a similar aesthetic to the first 4 characters, standing at a little under 3″ tall and featuring a Bukkuriman/Ma-Ba Zombies split torso, finger puppet style design. Likely to make a debut in keshi form courtesy of DuboseArt over the next few months, keep a look out for a full reveal of The Fate’s companion Series 3 figure soon…


MAN-E-NEWS// The “Gold Rush” Kiaida-kun & Boomy sofubi from Goccodo…

Fresh from his “Thomas Blue” Astro Unkotsu release back in June, Japanese artist Goccodo is proud to present yet another figure finally available to overseas customers, the “Gold Rush” Kiaida-kun & Boomy sofubi! Designed and sculpted by Goccodo, the stunning figure stands at around 9″ tall, coming complete with 5 points of articulation, alternate Kiaida-kun and Boomy heads plus a removable insect claw. Produced in an eye-catching gold glitter infused soft vinyl with minimal gold and black sprays, the figure is currently up for grabs via lottery for just 8,500yen ($68) plus shipping. Interested parties are going to need to head over to Goccodo’s site right here and fill out the dedicated lottery form before close on Thursday, August 13th… Good luck to all who enter!
