MAN-E-NEWS// The Robot 13 Kickstarter resin 5 pack from Deadbear Studios…

robot13

After months of set backs and delays, we can finally reveal the full Robot 13 mini figure set from Deadbear Studios! Created for Blacklist Studios’ Robot 13 Kickstarter campaign (find out more here), the pack features 5 of the comic series’ most memorable characters including King!, El Conejo Furioso and of course Robot 13, each cast in both black and pewter editions. Unfortunately only available to pledgees of the original Kickstarter campaign at the moment, the M.U.S.C.L.E style figures should hopefully be making their way to the Deadbear Studios store in some form or another soon… Original pledgees will be glad to know that orders are now slowly being filled, so expect your set soon!

MAN-E-NEWS// The “El Conejo Furioso” Robot 13 mini figure from Motorbot…

It’s been a while since we last heard anything about the Robot 13 mini figures (last posted here), so it came with great relief yesterday to find the fifth and final sculpt on Motorbot‘s instagram feed yesterday! Taking one of our favourite Robot 13/King! characters, the rabbit eared lucha mask wearing El Conejo Furioso, Motorbot has faithfully recreated the rotund figure in the 2″ M.U.S.C.L.E scale with ease… Created for the Robot 13 Kickstarter a couple of months back, the set of 5 resin figures should be making their way to pledgees in both black and pewter colourways sometime in September/October. Unfortunately, we still don’t have details on whether the release will be available outside of the KS campaign, but we’re guessing Motorbot will be working on a few editions for his shop in the near future…

MAN-E-NEWS// The Robot 13 mini-figures from Motorbot…

Even after his grisly encounter with an Exacto knife last week (check Instagram for the grisly details!), the ever prolific Motorbot has soldiered on, and whilst not busy casting a vast array of Meatsters, he’s been putting the final touches to the highly anticipated Robot 13 resin 5 pack! As you can see from the shot above, the 3 standing figures are nearing completion (the other 2 are crawlers!), and boy are they looking sweet! Sadly we’re still unfamiliar to the series (we still await our Robot 13 Kickstarter trade print!), so we can’t confirm which characters will be featuring apart from Robot 13 and KING!… so expect a big update once we’re more in the know. Created for the Robot 13 Kickstarter a couple of months back, the 5 packs should be making their way to pledgees in both black and pewter colourways sometime in July/August. Unfortunately, we still don’t have details on whether the release will be available outside of the KS campaign, but we’re guessing Motorbot will be working on a few editions for his shop in the near future…

MAN-E-NEWS// Slugs, necklaces, arcade machines, and more from Motorbot…

The resin work horse that is Motorbot has been putting the final touches to several new projects since the sellout launch of Squonk a couple of weeks back, so we thought we’d give a quick rundown of the goodies you can expect to drop in the Deadbear Studios store over the coming month…

Swiftly following the arrival of Tenacious Toys‘ exclusive ‘blue edition‘ Slugs earlier in the week, Motorbot has revealed that around 10 one-off hand cast and painted Slugs will be made available through the store sometime tomorrow (March 8th). Expect them to come bagged and headed for around $10 a piece…

Spotted on Motorbot’s Instagram several times over the past couple of months, the much talked about Meathead and Deadbear pendants should be available in-store next week. Coming meticulously laser etched, an initial batch of the beautiful wooden tags should be arriving at the Deadbear studios by the weekend- expect more news on pricing and availability to hit soon…

Previously featured here a couple of weeks back, images Motorbot’s That Thing Ate My Quarter have finally surfaced in ‘mock-up’ form. With decals created by Lance Reine, the hand cast resin figure will initially be made available at the upcoming Vinyl Thoughts 2 exhibition (Thursday, March 15th 7:00-11:00pm) at The Quixotic World, Dallas, with any left over (fingers crossed!) dropping on the Deadbear store sometime after…

With Blacklist studios reaching their target for the Robot 13: Colossus Kickstarter project last week, Motorbot has been firing full steam ahead on creating the other 5 mini-figures that will be joining Robot 13 (revealed here) in the highly anticipated 6 pack. Pictured here are 2 as yet unnamed characters (fans of the series will be able to make an informed guess!), and as you can see, these should easily reach the lofty standards set by the first sculpt. Stay tuned for more info on the project soon…

MAN-E-NEWS// Robot 13 mini figure reveal from Motorbot x Blacklist Studios…

Thomas Hall of Blacklist Studios has just sent over the first full shot of Motorbot‘s finished Robot 13 sculpt, leaving us with no doubt that the eventual 6 pack release will become one of the artist’s most sought after releases. Offered as part of the Robot 13 trade book Kickstarter project (featured here) to anyone pledging $50 or more, the M.U.S.C.L.E scaled Robot 13, along with KING! and 4 other as-yet unannounced characters will be available in both pewter and black colourways (depending on your pledge point) and will remain exclusive to Kickstarter backers. Currently on $7,021 out of the $7,500 required and with still 11 days to go, we’re putting our money on the project meeting it’s target, and personally can’t wait to get our hands on these promising figures! Expect more news soon…

MAN-E-NEWS// Motorbot’s ‘Squonk’ resin figure out today (plus Robot 13 update)…

Featured here as a work in progress a few weeks back, Motorbot‘s latest resin creature, the Squonk, is set to drop some time today in the Deadbear Studios store. Limited to an initial batch of around 10, Motorbot has revealed several different shimmering colourways so far, including ‘slime’ green, root beer, ocean water, sparkling cream soda, and people eater purple. No news yet with regards to exact numbers or pricing on the hand sculpt and cast figures, so be sure to hover around the Deadbear site later on tonight to be in with a chance of securing yours…

We covered Blacklist Studios recent Robot 13 Kickstarter project, including the Motorbot mini-figure collaboration here last week, so we thought we’d share with you the latest image of his keshi scaled Robot 13 sculpt (below). Standing at just 2″ tall, this has to be one of Motorbot’s most detailed sculpts yet- we’re just keeping our fingers crossed that the team hit their pledge target so that this little guy, along with 5 others, can be produced in full resin glory. For more information on the project, check out the Blacklist Studios Kickstarter page here.

MAN-E-NEWS// The Robot 13: COLOSSUS Kickstarter featuring mini-figures from Motorbot x Blacklist Studios…

Co-founder of Blacklist Studios, Thomas Hall, sent us over some rather interesting information regarding the studio’s latest Kickstarter project. Set up to fund a trade book edition of their first comic series, Robot 13:COLOSSUS, Blacklist are preparing a wide variety of extras for anyone interested in investing. As well as GID t-shirts, buttons, one-off sketches, and even featuring in the next story arc, Blacklist are offering a set of exclusive M.U.S.C.L.E inspired Robot 13 mini-figures to anyone who pledges $50 or more!

Sculpted and cast by MAN-E-TOYS favourite, Motorbot of Deadbear Studios, the series’ leading characters, Robot 13 and KING!, will sit alongside 4 other 2″ resin figures in either pewter or black colourways (depending on your pledge point). Each 6 pack will come bagged with a full colour header designed by Motorbot.

Thomas has also mentioned that the studio is currently working with Deadbear with regards to adding a limited bust of Robot 13 to the Kickstarter soon. The final sculpt for the figure has already been approved, so expect more info/pics in the coming days…
