MAN-E-XCLUSIVE// The “Leucotomy Ball” from Leucotomy x The Disarticulators revealed…

photo 1 (62)

Gabriel Mackenzie of UK apparel brand Leucotomy has teamed up with our very own Disarticulators for the release of his very own signature ball toy! Designed by Gabe and sculpted by the hugely talented Zectron, the 2″ ball – roughly the same scale as the previously released Oozeball – has been inspired by a Manga short story compilation (name forthcoming), blending a macabre, exposed flesh design along with elements from Cure’s Thorn Ball Boogieman to devastating effect. Currently undergoing rubber production courtesy of Tru:Tek, expect to see the first edition at the Rampage Toys x Tru:Tek NYCC booth (#402) next month, with an online release through the Leucotomy store soon after… Stay tuned for the full lowdown on the figure as we get a little closer to the event!

MAN-E-NEWS// The custom Madball of Death from Joe Whiteford…

One of the hottest customisers in the scene right now, Joe Whiteford has just revealed yet another masterpiece now winging it’s way to a very lucky private collector- a hand painted version of The Disarticulators‘ Madball of Death! Designed/sculpted by Zectron and produced by our very own Tru:Tek, the split-design 2″ rubber ball has been treated to Joe’s signature mix of decaying skin and bloodied, glistening flesh, coming finished with a photo-realistic, blood shot eye. Unfortunately just a privately commissioned one-off at the moment, word has it that The Disarticulators will be teaming up with the artist for a special run of figures very soon- more news on that as soon as it’s been confirmed!

MAN-E-NEWS// The Rotten Tomato Ball from Triclops Studio x The Disarticulators…

tommy blog

With just one day until the big event, the Disarticulators have teamed up with the fine chaps over at Triclops Studio to present their final ToyCon UK exclusive, the Rotten Tomato Ball! Designed by Triclops, sculpted by Zectron and produced in a urethane rubber by Tru:Tek, the 3″ round figure has been inspired by Dr Gangreen’s killer fruit (or is that vegetable?!), drawing influences from neo-kaiju, the gross-out art of the 80’s and AMToys’ iconic Madball figures to realise the hideous beast you see above… Debuting at ToyCon in both “Rip(p)er Red” and “Green Meanie” colourways (including 2 one-off extra rotten chases!) priced at £45 a piece, these will also be joined by a number of one-off casts and Rampage handpaints that will be revealed on the day. Touching down at both Rampage Toys x Disarticulator and Tarantulas’ booths come opening time tomorrow, expect details of online sales to follow next week…

MAN-E-XCLUSIVE// Dr Gangreen’s Killer Tomato Ball from Triclops x The Disarticulators teased…

tomato teaser

Returning from the depths of obscurity nearly 30 years since the Great Tomato War, the evil Dr P.T.Gangreen has enlisted the twisted minds of both Triclops and The Disarticulators to realise his most disturbing creation yet… the Killer Tomato Ball! Currently undergoing cloning for a full-scale invasion at ToyCon UK in April, the attached image is all we have to go on at present, but judging by the size of those teeth and the dead look in that eye, only the most dedicated toy collector should even attempt to go near these crazed fruit (or is it vegetable?!) based creatures… Expect more news from the doctor as we all near our impending doom on April 12th!

MAN-E-NEWS// The High Octane Freddyball from Muscle Things…

freddy-168x300-1

It’s been an age since we last featured any Muscle Things figures here on Man-E-Toys, so it came with great pleasure today to find that the long awaited Nitro Ball series is now in full swing, with the second figure, the awesome Freddyball now up for grabs! Based on A Nightmare on Elm Streets’ lead character Krueger, the Madballs-style figure was digitally sculpted by Muscle Things, coming cast in his “Official” White Magic stretch rubber. Currently available in 2 different colourways, a UV reactive Electric Blue and Orange Glow, the 2″ wide balls can be found in the Muscle Things store right here for just $22.50 each plus shipping…

MAN-E-XCLUSIVE// The Disarticulators’ 3D printed “base” ball revealed…

3d print ball blog

One of the many problems we (The Disarticulators) have encountered since working on both the MoD and Oozeballs over the past 6 months has been the heavy reliance of both magnets and glue- both are very difficult to work with alongside rubber urethane, and with the extensive post-production work needed on both designs, we have often been reduced to binning figures after a niggling fault on the final step. With a number of different nostalgia-tinged balls planned for release over the next year, we really wanted to put in place a standardised “base” design that would eliminate the need for both materials, whist also improving on the original MoD mechanic- thus the ball you see above was born! Designed by our very own Tru:Tek and realised in 3D by none other than Hauke Scheer, the ball features a new lipped approach which will provide some much needed registration for any solid ball releases, and a tight opening/closing mechanic for our more adventurous pieces. Measuring around 2.25″ in diameter (MoD size) even before any additional sculpting, this is going to mean that the next wave of balls will be considerably bigger than the previous releases- which can only be a good thing, right?! We’ll be keeping you guys in the loop about any future developments, so be sure to stay tuned to be the first to find out what’s coming…

Thanks once again to our good friend Jon Malmstedt over at Rampage Toys, the Disarticulators will be featuring at Design Fiesta next weekend! Keep track of the Rampage Instagram feed here for details of post-event sales soon!
