MAN-E-NEWS// The Neon-Zero resin action figure from Scraped Resin…

neon5

“In the last days of 1989, The Ultimate warrior assembled a Survivor Series team that would be able to match the might of Andre the Giant’s army and lead pro wrestling into the glorious 90’s. The Rockers were an obvious choice due to their tiger-striped bandanas and double-drop kick, and the trio searched the globe for a fourth member that would give them the edge over Andre’s forces. They found Neon-Zero, Mexico’s greatest champion, and promptly asked him to join the team, due to his unmatched brutality and conveniently matching slime green ring gear.

Sensing they had an edge with their new team mate, Andre opened his time portal and ambushed Neon-Zero, tossing him into the unknown future. Now in 2014, Neon-Zero fights to return to his own time to ensure he isn’t erased from history. Will he get his revenge on Andre the Giant, or will he need to be replaced by a hungover Jim Niedhart?”

After a barrage of requests from fans, Scraped Resin are proud to reveal that their most sought after one-off figure, Neon-Zero, is back for a full production run, bringing with him a new set of arms and one hell of a fleshed-out backstory! Featuring magnetically articulated limbs and a removable helmet, the 3.5″ tall resin figure comes bagged with an authentic header inspired by the Ultimate Warrior’s original Survivor Series team. Limited to an edition of 6 pieces, a total of 3 different styles are up for grabs, including the one-off “Son of Cyclops”, coming fully painted in a Cable-inspired colourway compete with a bonus resin head. The Mystery of Mixtape//

While Mixtape’s enigmatic lucha mask shrouds his face in shadows, it’s nothing compared to the mystery of his past.  Rumors of growing up in Brooklyn, or possibly Tokyo, have never been confirmed, but he first appeared in Tijuana in the late nineties with a crate full of records and clothesline that could almost take a man’s head off.

Adding to the mystery is the fact that nobody has ever heard the bastard speak since he showed up on the scene.  Typically behind his trusty turntables, he communicates strictly through record scratches and audio samples, generally able to get his point across effectively.

While a widely feared rudo in the ring, his DJ service’s Yelp review is currently only 2 and a half stars due to a tendency to only play Wu-Tang regards regardless of the clients requests.  As Ultimate Carlos began assembling his army of lucha thugs, he needed a giant bruiser and someone to coordinate entrance theme music.  In Mixtape he had found both.
