Kalaka Toys’ Shogun Warlord debut…

Kalaka Toys‘ long-awaited Shogun Warlord finally makes its debut this week

  • Size: 10″
  • Articulation: 4 points (neck, arms, waist), plus removable sheild
  • Edition size: TBC

  • Inspired by both Dungeons and Dragons’ Warduke and the classic Jumbo Machinder Shogun Warriors, the Warlord has been designed by Kalaka and sculpted digitally in 3D, coming cast in a plethora of different blank colorways for its first release; Black, Black/Blood, Yellow Blood and a special “Ghost Warlord” GID
  • Each comes packed with a custom header card

Super7’s new M.U.S.C.L.E reveals at NYTF…

Following on from their recent barage of MOTU, Alien and SF2 figures, Super7 unveil their latest range of licensed M.U.S.L.E. mini figures at the New York Toy Fair this week

  • Size: 2″-2.5″
  • Price: $6 per set (TBC)
  • New licenses confirmed so far include Mega Man, Shogun Warriors, Robotech, Aliens and Super7’s own property, The Worst
  • From images revealed so far, it would appear that (aside from Robotech) the new licenses will follow a similar template to previous releases, featuring 4 sets each containing 3 predetermined figures

Eric Smith over at Full Blown Ink is proud to reveal that his debut production toy “Vulkira” is set to drop in an all-new “Berserker” colorway this weekend! Born out of a love of giant Japanese robots, the stunning, fully articulated figure borrows elements from the likes of the Shogun Warriors and Jumbo Machinders, albeit compacted down to a more collector-friendly 8″ scale. Produced in soft vinyl courtesy of Unbox Industries, the ‘bot has been treated to a paint app inspired by the X-Men’s Wolverine this time around, coming with a mix of masked primary yellow, blue, red and black sprays. Limited to an edition of just 10 pieces, the “Berserker” Vulkira will be touching down in the Full Blown Ink store right here this Sunday, May 10th at Noon Eastern time for just $85 plus shipping…

Within the final few days of his Super Robot StratoMaxx Kickstarter campaign, Bryan Borgman of Kaiju Kaos is proud to reveal a number of custom tiers for the hulking 13″ of fully articulated resin! Intended as 1 of 4 core ‘colossal’ characters for the extensive Kaiju Kaos tabletop universe, the figure takes inspiration from classic Super Robot designs such as Mazinger Z, Gigantor, UFO Robot Grendizer, and Mattel’s Shogun Warriors. With the Kickstarter intended to raise funds in order to produce the piece as a fully fledged garage-style resin kit, the new tiers put in place now offer one-off, fully painted and assembled versions from some of the indie toy scene’s finest, including Clawfreak (Jason Speth), Ersico (Eric Sorrells), Evilos (Christopher Charles Avalos),Mark Nagata, and Super_SandBagger (JR Deem)- and all for just $200 a piece! Spotted over at Toybot Studios this morning come the latest customs from Skinner… the incredible Shogun Warriors! Bringing the jumbo machinder sized figure bang up to date, the vintage bots have been expertly sprayed in Skinner’s usual vivid choice of colours, finished off with striking hand-brushed thunder bolts and visible guts. Priced at just $300 a piece (a steal considering the prices the originals go for!), anyone interested should hit up Skinner through his Twitter feed here with any enquiries…
