Jon Malmstedt over at Rampage Toys has revealed that he’ll be resurrecting Splurrt‘s highly underrated “Evolved Diggler” sofubi for a special mash-up release just in time for Designer Con ’15! Dubbed the “Salary Diggs”, these stunning figures feature the suited body of Skull Head Butt‘s “They Live” with the hands and head of the cycloptic, dual-mouthed beast, each coming complete with a huge amount of masking, rubbing, spraying and dry brushing to create the stunning effect you see above. Limited to just a handful of figures (including a rather awesome pink chase!), expect to see the Salary Diggs at the Rampage x Imps and Monsters DCon booth come opening time on Saturday, November 21st…


MAN-E-NEWS// The “Ooze-X” sofubi mash-up for Clutter’s “Nihonsei” group show…

Jon Malmstedt over at Rampage Toys has just unveiled one of many limited runs he’ll have on display at Clutter Magazine‘s upcoming “Nihonsei” (Made in Japan) group show, proudly presenting the “Ooze-X” mash-up! Once again taking on Skull Head Butt’s classic “X” body, the 9″ tall figure features The Disarticulators‘ Oozeball as a head, coming complete with layer upon layer of metallic and neon sprays, fades and brushwork. Limited to just a handful of pieces, pricing on this never-to-be-repeated mash-up is still to be confirmed… Look out for the full lowdown on the show, including dates, featured artists and purchasing instructions soon!


MAN-E-NEWS// Lulubell Toys’ Saturday SDCC 14 exclusives revealed…

Following our mammoth post here earlier in the week, we can now bring you the remaining SDCC exclusives that’ll be up for grabs at the Lulubell Toys booth this Saturday, July 26th! Joined by the remaining 5 of Restore’s Neo Japan and Evil Dave’s Bella Muerta, the final day plays host to a whole heap of Grody madness, with mash-ups and customs coming from Mishka, Mutant Vinyl Hardcore and newcomer Ummiko. Here’s a quick rundown of what’ll be up for grabs…

Mishka Mash-Ups (top)- The guys over at Mishka have teamed up with Grody Shogun for the release of 2 “Keep Watch” mash-ups! Featuring Lamour Supreme’s KW Bootleg head, the previously revealed “Children’s Toy” (coming with the legs of Ummiko’s Koningu) has been joined by a new sitting figure from Grody, both coming cast in multi-toned marble vinyl. Going on sale at the booth at 11am on Saturday, both have been priced at just $65 each, with the Ummiko figs limited to 8 and the Grodys, just 4.

Mutant Vinyl Hardcore x Grody Shogun- Saving the best until last, Lulubell have managed to secure a total of 3 Grody mash-up micro runs from none other than Rich over at Mutant Vinyl Hardcore! Featuring a mix of Grody Monster and Sludge Demon parts, the Blood Egg Grody’s (ltd 4), Strawberry Icey’s (ltd 3) and Ghoulies (ltd 4) have each been hand painted by Rich on a stunning pearl base vinyl, coming in at just $125 each. Going up for sale at the Lulubell booth via lottery on Saturday afternoon, tickets will be handed out at 3pm with a drawing at 3.15pm.

MAN-E-NEWS// Rampage Toys’ Beastroyer Division 1 micro-run for Design Fiesta 39…

Hot off the heals of yesterday’s massive Design Fiesta 39 reveal, Jon over at Rampage Toys returns with yet another must-have release, the Beastroyer Division 1 micro-run! Originally created as a one-off custom for the recent ToyCon UK exclusive Rampage x Tarantulas release, the ingenious Nibbler mash-up returns, featuring the same upside-down body that perfectly houses both Bobby Beast, and now Harry Demon, “driver” micros. Cast up in an army green soft vinyl with black red and silver sprays, the batch of 5 Beastroyers will be going on sale at the Rampage Toys x Fig-Lab x Refreshment booth (E167/168) this Saturday, May 17th, with any remaining stock expected to make an appearance online at some point on Monday. MAN-E-NEWS// The Rampage x Shamrock Arrow “Fang” sofubi mash-up for Superfestival 64…

Joining a whole slew of original sofubi, customs and keshi currently being readied for this Sunday’s Superfestival 64, Jon Malmstedt proudly presents his latest mash-up micro run… the Rampage Toys x Shamrock Arrow Shark Fighter! An ingenious combination of Rampage’s Ugly Unicorn and Shamrock’s Fang, the 5″ tall figures have been cast in a gorgeous blue soft vinyl, coming with a tidy mix of silver sprays and red/gold hand painted detailing. Going on sale at booth A12 for an undisclosed sum, we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that at least a couple of these guys will make it to the Rampage store soon after… Stay tuned for more reveals from Rampage later in the week!


MAN-E-NEWS// Secret Base’s “Obake” Frankenball7 sofubi…

Whilst we can’t confirm anything at present, it would appear that the Secret Base half of the recently revealed Frankenball7 mash-up will be up for grabs later today! Featuring a grey cast Frankenghost body with a marbled GID/green Obake head (with Super7‘s western release coming with a Goner instead), the 4″ tall soft vinyl figure is estimated to cost around 6,000yen. Likely to only be available to Japanese customers, those in the West will be glad to know that forwarding service M-World are currently offering them up at 10,800 a piece. Brian Flynn over at Super7 has just revealed a collab figure from heaven, proudly presenting the Frankenball7 sofubi! Teaming up with Secretbase, the ingenious Frankenghost mash-up will be available in 2 different editions; an Obake version that’ll only be available to purchase at the SB store, and a Goner that’ll be exclusive to Super7, both cast in a swirled green and white soft vinyl with grey bodies. No news of edition size, pricing or release dates as of yet, so be sure to keep a close eye on the Super7 blog for more details soon…
