MAN-E-NEWS// The Robo Kong and Tiny Terror customs from Topheroy…

Screen Shot 2014-03-27 at 14.00.19

Whilst we rarely feature privately commissioned customs here on Man-E-Toys, when we found out that Topheroy had taken on one of our favourite Skull Head Butt figures, the awesome Robo Kong, we simply couldn’t ignore! Taking on the Robot Monster inspired kaiju with flare, Toph has opted for a more parred back colour scheme than usual, swapping out the rainbow Monster Kolor fades for a gorgeous metallic grape and gold with subtle black lowlights. Winging it’s way to one super lucky customer as we speak, those interested in bagging a similar piece (and just so happen to have a spare Kong lying around!) can e-mail the artist directly at topheroy@gmail.com with their enquiries.

Can’t wait to get your Topheroy fix? Then you’ll be glad to know that we’ve just added a super-limited batch of Disarticulators x Toph Tiny Terror mini figures to our store! Originally created for the now canned Artist Series we were cooking up early last year, we have finally decided to offer up the few that we have left. Featuring sculpts from all 3 Disarticulators (Zectron, Tru:Tek and Bigmantoys), the trio of 2″ scaled figs were cast in a solid resin (not rubber!) for the release, each coming in a multitude of Monster Kolor sprays courtesy of Toph. Available as set for $50, or as singles ranging from $15-$20, the custom Tiny Terrors can be found in-store right here

MAN-E-NEWS// Blurble’s Swampy and Gusto in Space…

Mike Marinello aka Blurble is proud to present not 1, but 2 new releases heading to his store later this week! First up we have Swampy… Designed and sculpted by Blurble, with production duties handed over to Dubose Art, the little guy stands at around 2.5″ tall, coming cast in a red/yellow swirled resin complete with ‘Moon Tea’ glass. Limited to an edition of 8 this time around, Swampy will be up for grabs starting Thursday, September 12th at 3pm PST for just $17 plus shipping…

“Swampy is one of the many Swamp Kids who hang out at the local Swamp park in the town of Honey Island. Swampy never leaves home without his trusty Moon Tea Glass which is usually filled with swamp gas and tea. He loves pouring toxic acid on bugs and scaring the local kids with his fart sounds. But the dude is loyal to the swamps and will be there to back any of his swamp pals if there is ever a brawl or something.”

Next up, we have the long awaited arrival of the “Gustos in Space” artist proofs! A collaboration between Blurble and our very own Tru:Tek, the little guys were originally designed by Blurble, sculpted by Rampage Toys and then reduced by Tru:Tek to fit the Bio-Drone ship. Cast in a mix of pink and black urethane rubber with a clear plastic dome, the figures have been limited to just 7 at $23 a piece. Expect to see them in-store alongside Swampy this coming Thursday!

MAN-E-NEWS// Custom Critter and Lobsterman mini figures from Topheroy x The Disarticulators…

Following the ‘My Pet Monster‘ Critter custom posted earlier in the week, we proudly present 2 more Disarticulator customs from the insanely talented Topheroy! Once again tackling the 1″ Critter platform with flare, the resin figure, cast by our very own Tru:Tek, has been given Toph’s infamous rainbow fade of Monster Kolor sprays, finished with metallic black detailing and a liberal coat of hi-gloss. Joining the Critter comes another design from our resident super-sculptor Zectron, the TTFTD Lobsterman. As with the Crite, this guy has also be cast in resin, this time around coming in an Iron Man-esque mix of metallic red and yellow sprays with black detailing. Unlike the previously revealed Critter, these guys are actually available for sale (yay!)- priced at just $25 a piece, they can be found on Topheroy’s Customantics store right here… Stay tuned for more Toph x Disarticulator action soon!

MAN-E-PROFILE// “Break Fighters” HIGEKAMI: Master of Beard-Fu from The Disarticulators…

Presenting the third release that we will be unveiling as ‘The Disarticulators‘ at the Rampage Studios opening show on Friday, we bring you HIGEKAMI: Master of Beard-Fu! The first release in an on-going series called “Break Fighters”, a make-believe early 90’s scrolling beat ’em up, the absolutely beautiful 2″ figure has once again been designed and sculpted by the insanely talented Zectron, with production duties handed over to Tru:Tek for the debut urethane rubber run.

Limited to an initial batch of just 5 one-off neon colours, each figure comes housed in a custom made SNES-style window box designed by Tru:Tek with artwork from Zectron. Alongside the general ‘M.U.S.C.L.E flesh’ release next month, Rampage Toys will eventually receive more stock in the form of both neon ‘Green’ and ‘Pink’ variants, whilst Lee over at Bigmantoys will be serving up a batch of custom resins soon after… Stay tuned for firm release details (including pricing) over the coming weeks!

MAN-E-PROFILE// The ‘Rampage Exclusive’ Masters of the Bootleg: KESH-E-FACE figure from The Disarticulators…

kesh e face

Continuing the rundown of Disarticulator figures we’ll be unveiling at this week’s Rampage Studios opening, we bring you the piece that has perhaps garnered us the most attention so far… the ‘Rampage Exclusive’ Masters of the Bootleg: KESH-E-FACE! The first Disarticulator release to crossover into the world of H.U.S.T.L.E, the oversized mini figure  has been created as the ultimate arch-nemesis to H.U.S.T.L.E’s main protagonist, the fateful Min-E-Face. Sculpted by the uber talented Zectron, the jaw dropping 3″ tall figure takes all our favourite parts of the He-Man/MOTU aesthetic; Man-E-Face’s rotating head, Skeletor’s face, Ram-Man’s shoulders, a chest symbol straight from Mosquitor and Hordak, plus a Trapjaw inspired cybernetic arm (albiet wildly enhanced!), and combines them to form one of the coolest mini figures we’ve ever seen, let alone had the honour to produce!

Cast in a day glo/neon green rubber with pink rotating head (plus one reverse chase!) for this Rampage exclusive edition, the 3″ tall figure once again comes packaged in a hand finished blister card with artwork from Zectron. Limited to just 5 pieces, additional stock (albiet in a solid green) will be touching down in the Rampage Studios store at some point next month… Stay tuned for details on the standard ‘M.U.S.C.L.E flesh’ release soon…

MAN-E-PROFILE// ‘Tiny Terrors from the Deep’ mini figure 3 pack from The Disarticulators…

photo 1

With the much talked about first toy show at the newRampage Studios opening it’s doors later this week, we’ll be giving you guys the full lowdown on all the various figures we’ll be debuting as The Disarticulators. Today we start with our first truly collaborative project, the Tiny Terrors from the Deep mini figure pack…

Featuring 3 separate figures from Tru:Tek, the Amazing Zectron and Bigmantoys, each design has been influenced by a different character from 90’s underwater RTS videogame, XCom: TFTD. Initially produced in an authentic kesh-style rubber by Tru:Tek, a standard blue/pink edition (pictured) will be available in extremely limited quantities at the Rampage Studios opening, with further stock hitting the Man-E-Toys store alongside an edition of 5 ‘M.U.S.C.L.E fleshies’ soon after. Aside from the debut rubber variants, a mini artist series is in the works (artists TBC soon!), as well as a slew of special edition ‘singles’ and custom resin 3 packs from Bigmantoys… Packaged in a PS One style window box, the set will be retailing for around $40, with singles starting at $15- expect release dates and exclusive colourway reveals soon!

Character Profiles//

Lobsterman (designed and sculpted by Zectron): “The Lobsterman is a formidable opponent. Lobstermen form the shock troopers of the deep and also hold very high positions amongst the alien hierarchy.

The Lobsterman, in addition to using standard alien weaponry, has big meaty claws that allow it to viciously strike aquanauts when in close quarters. This means that whether or not it is carrying firearms, a Lobsterman is a constant threat until it is incapacitated.

The Lobsterman’s other – and perhaps most – distinguishing feature is its thick carapace that makes it nearly invulnerable. Their actual protective plating is very light, but the Lobsterman’s extreme damage resistance greatly reduces the effectiveness of most weapons. Low powered weapons are rendered ineffective.”

Bio-Drone (designed and sculpted by Tru:Tek):“The Bio-Drone is a creation only an alien mind could conceive of. It is a brain, (human or alien) suspended in amniotic fluids and connected to a powered base unit that can fly on land or below water.

Each Bio-Drone is armed with a powerful auditory disruptor, part machine and part organism. Some of our scientists have suggested that the weapon is driven by the host organisms original vocal cords. Highly accurate and tenacious these super guard dogs are widely used by the aliens to protect valuable assets.”

P.A.T (designed and sculpted by Bigmantoys):Little is known about this relatively unthreatening, yet horrific creature. No doubt a failed attempt at alien assimilation, “Pat” (Partially Assimilated Terrestrial) as we call him, still lives near or within alien colonies. This would not be so disturbing if it were not for his remaining human traits. He still goes through the motions of waving hello as he advances on our troops. Rather than neutralise him, Aquanauts tend to run away, perhaps out of reluctance to kill any remaining humanity inside.”
