“Despair is a demon from the 10th Circle of Hell; the level where people who make bad cinematic adaptations of classic toy properties are flayed for eternity. Not your average demon, Despair suffers from severe anxiety disorder and crippling depression. Satan himself even banished Despair from Hell for being a major bummer…
Cast out upon the earth in a fiery geyser of lava and tears, Despair landed in the parking lot of a comedy club that was hosting a weekly open mic night. Despair put his name on the sign-up sheet, got on stage, and told his story. Since then, he has been punishing himself, night after night, on comedy stages of varying quality throughout the Midwest. He dances and lashes himself for audiences with hopes of selling t-shirts and CDs to drunk people who will not wear or listen to them.”
Originally releasing way back in October of last year, the debut figure from comedian and avid toy collector Adam Quesnell – DESPAIR – is set to return for a special Valentines Day release this week! Created to celebrate the release of his album “Can We Afford This Much Despair?” on Stand Up! Records, Adam teamed up with illustrator Terence Brown II, October Toys, and our very own Tru:Tek of the Disart Toylabs to bring the sad little guy to life. Standing at around 3″ of 100% UV resistant rubber, the super squishy figure was designed by Terrance and sculpted by the OT team, coming cast in a Valentine-themed light red/pink by Tru:Tek. Touching down in the FAQ Comedy store this Valentines Day (2/14) at 12pm CST, the super-limited figure will be up for grabs at just $25 with free 1st class shipping… But that’s not all! On top of the Valentines release, Adam will also be offering up the remaining 10 blue/orange marble Despairs too- so if you missed out on this awesome colorway the first time around, this is your last chance to bag it!
Our good friend Peter Kato has kindly shared the first in a long list of new sculpts that’ll be arriving just in time for Valentines Day, proudly presenting the Eye Heart Bunnies! Based on his super-popular Bedtime Bunnies, this modified 3D sculpt replaces the original eyes with love hearts inspired by the “I’m in love” emoji. Standing at the medium sized 3″ tall, the first wave of bunnies have been produced by Peter in a choice of his/hers light blue and pink resin with neon pink hand painted detailing. Limited to just 12 pieces of each, the little guys will be up for grabs in Peter’s store this coming Thursday, January 5th at 8pm Eastern time for just $25 a piece… But that’s not all! Joining the Eye Heart Bunnies, Peter will also have a new batch of Sleeptime Bunnies up for grabs too. Produced in a marshmallow white resin and treated to pink highlights, these have been limited to just 20 priced at $12 each…
Richard Page over at UME Toys is proud to reveal his first release of the year, the Valentine edition Geekwok! The first run of the 3″ tall figure since scooping up a DTA award for “Best Resin” back in October, the adorable little nerd has been treated to a rather apt “Valentine” red paint app this time around, coming complete with a hand cast and painted “fixed” broken heart display plinth. Limited to an edition of just 20 pieces, the Valentine Geekwok will be touching down in the UME Toys store via preorder this coming Friday, January 9th at 9pm London time for an undisclosed sum…

First up come the Love Heart Jellybots. Limited to an edition of 3, these hand cast and painted resin figures will be available in either solid pink, or clear flecked green. No news on pricing, but be sure to keep an eye on Briggs’ store today, as these guys will fly!

The latest addition to Stepahne Levallois‘ Toxic Candies series, Marge Mallow, has just been given the Valentines treatment, with the latest ‘Light Pink’ colourway now available to purchase exclusively through Artoyz. Released in it’s original form a couple of weeks back, the new variant has been limited to an edition of 100, with each signed and numbered by the artist himself. On sale as from today, the 12cm tall vinyl figures have been priced at €35 plus shipping.
Marge Mallow is a chubby little miss, which same is pretty much self-explanatory. She may be shy and clumsy, she knows how to soften your heart.
Don’t bite Marge, or she’ll bite you !
