MAN-E-NEWS// New resin figures from HXstudio…

hx

Garnering a huge amount of attention through his stunning D.O.G resin last year, Barcelona based artist HXstudio has finally returned with 2 all-new resin figures… Sculpt in a similar style to the artist’s recent entry into Menace Inc Studio’s 7 Seals series (check it out here), the pair, a male and a female character, appear here as the first 2 fully painted prototypes. With a few casting issues to be ironed out (and of course, some names would be good too!), but we’re guessing it won’t be too long until we see the little guys popping up in the HX store. We’ll bring you more news as soon as we get it, but in the mean time we suggest heading over to HX’s dedicated October Toys forum thread here for all the latest developments…

MAN-E-NEWS// The custom bootleg M.U.S.C.L.E’s from Manny X…

Toy customiser-cum-resin artist Manny X alerted us to a brand new project he’s been working on that he figured would be right up our street… an awesome custom bootleg M.U.S.C.L.E 2 pack! Names for the figures are still forthcoming, but it appears the set will feature a cool Jack-O-Lantern inspired design, coupled with Manny’s recent Omni ‘eye’design. No news as to when these guys will be released, but we’ll be bringing you all the details as soon as they hit… We are also currently in talks with Manny with regards to our H.U.S.T.L.E Artist Series, so watch this space!

MAN-E-NEWS// Double Haunt’s latest resin figure teaser…

Australian duo Double Haunt recently teased a rather tentative image of their latest resin release featuring a set of fangs… well today we can reveal the figure’s full head sculpt in all its glory! Slightly differing from their usual Neo-Traditional approach, the piece still appears to hold their signature tattoo inspired aesthetic, although from the scales it would appear that it will be borrowing from the classic Japanese style this time around. Details on pricing and release dates are still to be confirmed, so be sure to stay locked on the Double Haunt blog for more information. Anyone interested in picking up any of the couple’s earlier work will be glad to know that the newly refurbished store is still stocking a wide variety of pieces, including our favourite, the adorable Mr Spook…

MAN-E-NEWS// Paul Shih’s Bevil the Devil Broccoli…

Any followers of cute kaiju legend Paul Shih would have noticed a certain vegetable based figure in the works over the past couple of weeks… which can reveal will be ready imminently! Entitled Bevil the Devil Broccoli, the 4.5″ tall figure is currently in the moulding process, so test shots should be ready (fingers crossed) at some point this week. We’re massive fans of Paul’s original Sushi Kaiju, so it goes without saying that we can’t wait for this guy to drop… expect more news on edition sizes, pricing and availability as soon as it hits. Anyone interested in getting a look at how the figure is being produced should head over to Paul’s site for a photo diary on the project here

MAN-E-NEWS// My Little Arpie work in progress from Jon Knox…

Following the reveal of R. Newbold exclusive “Brewster” resin figure (find out more here) last week, artist Jon Knox presents his latest work-in-progress sculpt, My little Arpie. Harking back to the style of Jon’s earlier resin pieces, the sunglasses wearing cutie stands at 14cm tall. We’re kind of hoping that this guy gets scaled down a bit for his official release… the simple shape and design would work great in a resin mini! Head over to Jon’s blog here to get a partial turnaround of the figure, and be sure to stay locked for further updates in the coming weeks…

MAN-E-NEWS// That Thing Ate My Quarter WIP sculpt from Motorbot…

Hot off the heals of the recently finished Squonk figure (dropping in the Deadbear Studio store sometime soon), Motorbot has just revealed images of his latest sculpt, entitled ‘That Thing Ate My Quarter’. Featuring the trademark teeth design that we all know and love, the 3″ resin arcade machine has got to be one of Motorbot’s strongest designs yet. No news as to colouring, edition size or pricing, but Motorbot will be announcing further details through his twitter feed soon…
